    Excellent plugin!
    I have a rather odd bug (or perhapse just my own incompetence)
    The first npc I made and gave dialog spoke the default lines in the citizen text file (ie hello, nice weather)
    When I edited the citizen text file manually all my npc's from then onwards spoke all lines allocated to them at once.
    Even though the formatting in the text file was just as it had been for the default npc.
    The spoken text included the separators ;

    You can edit the activating tool by adding all item codes into the citizens locations file under Item=
    Mine is 0 (for fists)
    You could always tell them to say "Fred: Hello" Instead of "Hello"
    funwall's last post already stated he is working on it.

    omfg this awsum, does it have sk... yeah i'm not stupid enough to have people hate me. Excellent work man, I've been following the NPCs mod that Jimpi was developing but he seems to have disappeared. It's made me and my server (oh and the players) very happy to see that an NPCs mod is being developed. Keep up the good work!

    Hello. Its possible to take an Skin for that NPCs?
    And how much more Performance that will get? Will the chunk all the time loaded ?

    Because i haven an server with 70 Guys on it and the server have much work on it :)

    With NPC Trader, If you're next to the NPC, it will say Hello to you. Anyway you could work that into the "face player" side of it?

    I use Permissions 2.5.2. I'm an OP and have 'citizens.*' group permissions, however, the plugin says "You don't have permission to use that command" on "/npc create".

    Hmmm... I'll see if TheYeti's permissions requires anything special that may cause this issue.

    I starded to create exactly the same plugin, you were faster :)
    I got the idea to set an amount of texts for each npc you own and they say tehm randomly, just as inspiration :)

    Also some kind of waypoints the npcs follow would be nice.

    You can change the item ID needed to read text. Yes

    Yes, I am planning on adding this in an update. Probably with waypoints (maybe before if waypoints take too long). This is a pretty easy feature to add, so it won't take long once I can start work on it.

    If you added that, it would definitely put you ahead of NpcSpirit, because of your simplicity, yet still having all the features, as soon as that feature is implemented I'll download [:

    If you add text to an npcs dialog in game the random speech works fine.
    If you try and do it via the plugin text file they say all there lines at once.
    Ie "Hello my name is billFancy a pint?This is a test!"
    rather than "Fancy a pint?" or "Hello my name is bill" or "This is a test"
    Even npcs that were edited in game become one long strand if you open it with as a document.
    Im guessing that means all speech has to be done in game. No sneaky copying and pasting dialog to other npcs

    Adding them in file requires that they be separated by ';'

    I saw this plugin then i was like OMG YEEESS!, but i tried the commands alot of times and it gave me the same respond:'"an internal error occured while attempting to perform this command"...
    What should i do???? help mee!

    Yep, they are seperated with ;
    In version 1 the ';' were included in the dialog when the npc spoke all there lines at once (Hello my name is bill;Fancy a pint?)
    in version 1.05 the ; are not visible but are still in the text file. (Hello my name is billFancy a pint?)

    I can only presume its a mysterious format change when saving it with notepad.
    I get an additional \ before every !
    and ;;;;;;; stuck on the end of the lines that were initally made in game.

    Woah, I'm, surprised you implemented the items that fast. You really know what you're doing. If you've ever been interested in private plugin creating for some money, you should message me, we could work something out. Of course the plugins would be publicly released after creation, but a little cash to get the plugins we wanted never hurt anybody right? :p Also if you're looking for a server to test your plugins at, my server, IP wafflecraft.net would love to have you. I'm currently having some issues in real life that need tending to so I can't get on my server until friday, until then I have my Co-Owner looking over it.
