Answered Feedback forums read-only?

For some reason, I can't post in the feedback forums http://forums.bukkit.org/forums/bukkitdev-information-and-feedback.68/ http://forums.bukkit.org/forums/bukkit-project-and-community-feedback.12/

Is this deliberate? Is Curse no longer considering community feedback? If not, how is it that the forums were accidentally changed like this?

 

20 hours seems like a long time to click some buttons in an admin control panel.

 

Might have been Jadedcat's lastpass this time also...

 

This will be resolved, shortly. In the meantime please keep in mind that this is friendly community and as such you are expected to be courteous and constructive.

 

Would you mind enlightening us as to why this occurred in the first place? Things like this don't just happen at the slip of a button, and I'm sure if they did, it would be resolved shortly(not 24h+) after.

I'm no expert with xenforo, but the last time I took a gander, it appeared to me that admin actions (intentional or not) are logged in an admin log section. So if this was an "odd" occurrence, why was it not investigated sooner and fixed?

Forgive me for being cynical, but it just seems to me that this was a shallow attempt at eliminating any feedback or criticism, especially in the midst of all these malicious files being let through as well as Seph's eloquently put post.

I've used XenForo in the past and can help you in locating the proper checkbox, if needed. Just let me know.

 

Fixed. I made a derp in trying to solve a spambot issue. I rearranged the forum sections, feedback is now in a postable portion of the forums again.

 

But the news forums have been postable the whole time. That's a postable portion too, FYI.

 

And its hit constantly with spambot attacks and non-news posts because it is open for anyone and everyone to make threads. News is no longer open for new threads. Replies to news threads yes, but not random creation of new threads.




That level of spam is just ridiculous

 

Jadedcat Aren't the bots just going to move on to other sections?

 

For some reason they don't bother the other sections. So we'll see. If so.. then I get creative. I dislike spambots. They are my sworn enemies....

 

Jadedcat Agreed. On forums that need approving for posts, especially, they're just frustrating for moderation teams.
