    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More​
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

    Are you using spout? If so, you need to upgrade it to a dev version or disable it until those guys release a 1060 compatible version.

    How do I know if I'm running CB XXXX or higher?:
    Type /version. The number here is your CB version:

    I will take your advice after seeing how supportive you are to every post in this section. I'll upgrade to the newest multiverse for one test, otherwise I'll look into CleanRoomGenerator and aim to find a plugin to renew items on use since spawning can be tedious.

    I had some plugins that didn't seem to accept the permissions in PermissionsEx. I ended up putting an exact copy of just Permissions in and I am almost sure that is what cleared up the issue. I did see in one plugin it say to include "LegacySomething=true" or something along those lines to fix it, but I lost the plugin and I want to think that was just for getting that plugin to work right.

    All in all though, I greatly appreciate your reply and respect that you take time to post so many times to even the most fail issues ;0. Thanks!
  3. Yea, I try not to get cranky, but it happens sometimes, so sorry if I come off a little obnoxious in some of my replies.

    Regarding permissions, So, It sounds like there may be a "connector" for permEx, but I'm not sure you want to be running 2 standalone permissions plugins, that may be causing some of your issues. I'm out for the night, but if you want to hop in IRC sometime tomorrow (defined as +8 hours from this post) I'll take a look, but if you hop in anytime, I'm sure someone in there will be able to help. If someone doesn't answer right away, hang around, and someone will get back with ya.

    Im sorry i forgot to add that info my config has opfallback to false allready.

    Update, installed Core V 228, Portals V 183 everything is now working.

    After updating to 2.0 it has started warning in console about all my portals that doesnt have destinations. Is there a way to squelch this if the destination is indeed not invalid but rather missing entirely? The system i use have portals without destinations as arrival markers. The reason for this is because i used to arrive on the side or even behind arches and other custom teleporting structures.

    We have two towns, one called silver and one called gold. I would then make 2 portals called silver2gold and gold2silver. Theese handle the the transfer between towns. But i would also make 2 portals called just silver and gold which would act as destinations for the previous two portals. Since they are only destinations and dont have any destinations of their own they cause warnings in console.

    silver2gold -> gold -> nowhere
    gold2silver -> silver -> nowhere

    silver2gold -> gold2silver
    gold2silver -> silver2gold

    .. would just make me end up somewhere around/near destination portal and was not a 'pretty solution'. Has this been fixed to work better?

    I will definitely try and do that tomorrow. I feel as though it could be more than just plugin conflicts >.<. I tried changing a ton of addons around here and there and testing other options as well, but they all lead to the same thing. Even tried setting up DimensionDoor & Stargate, but any plugin that lets me create/portal to a 2nd world leads to no ability to build (The normal world can be built in, the one that needs to be TP'd to doesn't).

    My latest attempt was having just 3 plugins left..: Permissions (the normal 3.1.6 one), StarGate, and DimensionDoor. I have been running Minecraft on a server with 1.5 GB RAM and using the java command to allow minecraft a GB of RAM. All in all though, I may try redownloading Bukkit to another folder and try seeing if multiworld works from there. As always, anything helps and any time used is appreciated.

    I can't figure out how to have the player launch into the air when they go into the portal. Also it would be nice to have portal block effects like nether portal though it seems like it would probably take you to the nether unless you could hook into the process so that when people go into any portal block then the plugin is triggered and it teleports to the right world based on their position instead of just watching for player position.
  10. This is definetly a permissions issue, if you want to see an example, hop on the test server. I _think_ you'll be able to build on the main world, but not world2. We use PermissionsBukkit though.

    Ok seriously? Was posting your permissions not in a spoiler or on pastebin really the best idea? Please think about the others reading and replying to the thread before you post more lines of text than are currently index in Google.

    Update ALL plugins of Multiverse. It looks like you updated portals, but not core.

    For some reason the prefix for the worlds doesn't show up after I upgraded to 2.0. And I do have it enabled in the multiverse core config.

    I did update core, again I followed the directions as directed... I left my old multiver stuff in the in the plugins folder, second I added multiverse core to the plugins folder and ran the server. Then after the comfirmed update I removed the old multiverse stuff. I added multiverse portals and made a portal.. then got the error.. the worlds are functioning just fine.. as I said before when ever I am oped I can use the portals.. its when I am not that the portals dont work.

    second I added all the stuff to try to get an answer...
  13. You don't need to "try" to get an answer. I answer all posts.

    Please do a "/mvv -p" ingame and post the link it gives.

    Hrm, most likely a chat plugin is interfering (I think we lowered MV's priority on the totem pole for chat stuff). Try booting up with no other plugins, just MV2 and see if you get them.

    your core is 2 builds behind (latest is 228)
    your portals is 15 builds behind (latest is 183)

    try updating them again and see what you get :)

    Found the issue fernferret ;0. You were definitely correct in knowing it was directly related to permissions. Turns out for some reason there was no inheritance line in PermissionsEx under the groups I made, so I was not given permissions that were needed to build. I was missing the modifyworld.* , but that still doesn't make sense why we could build on the initial world without permissions to do so =\.

    All in all though, everything said has been useful and I commend you for helping even when it wasn't directly related to Multiverse. It's always something small that leads to time-consuming issues >.<.

    But (theres allways a but isnt it ;P ) I hope you can fix the spawn problem (if I am not wrong, someone wrote something about this and then I assume its a bug).
    Every time I do "/mvtp nether" or "/mvtp world", I end up NOT where I placed /mvsetspawn.

    Yeah, I got slapped pretty hard the other day by wizjany for daring to edit a piece of spam on the SK wiki to say "this is spam. please remove it" (since I couldn't delete it after registering). I'm not touching anyone's wiki ever again :p

    looks great :) i understand that you are working hard on this, and that sign portals might not be the most important part to everyone...i just thought i would ask and see if there was any news :) seeing that picture made me think of a new question: are horizontal portals possible? i guess it would be hard to light one with the flint&steel...
  27. Got some bad news :/ A bug I found earlier today in bukkit will effect affect signportals. When a dev build comes out that fixes it i'll be sure to notify this thread.

    No Horizontal purple portals are not possible. Horizontal MV style portals ARE:
    Note the pink one.

    EDIT: I'm still on signportals right now, but they will not function as expected until this bug is fixed.

    yeah i remember seeing that picture :) its kinda too bad about the purple portals not working, but on the same note, these ones are kinda cooler because you cant see them...you could make a 'mystery pit' that takes you somewhere else and no one would know why ;)

    thats too bad about the bug :( my insistence on using sign portals (and hopefully backward compatibility) is that i use mcdungeon, and it has an option to place a sign portal at the bottom of the dungeon that you can set to take you back 'home' or wherever you want to send the players next, and without signportal support, well lets just say i already have tons of them set up...i also prefer sign portals for my players to make because they are easy, commandless and fairly limited in scope compared to the more advanced ones.

    thanks for keeping me up to date <3 hopefully they fix that bug soon.
