BlockControl is a economy plugin which allows players to setup an area and make money off of it. It provides a more economy-realistic experience in the sence that land owners can charge players for their blocks. Area and block costs can both be set ingame with a few commands.

Yes, definitely an option in a config file.
The way I see it, it could be used with towny and the maker/owner of the mine could change the account to the Town's bank.

so you dont have the prices for blocks like how do people get paid and how do i get profit

 

ok well i think it might be a good idea if there is away for you to hire workers and have them mine then for wat they mine they get paid and you the owner of the mine or farm gets a share of the money earned from each block or maby a pay check system so its like a business and it offers a competitive market for people to make profit

 

That would merit a completely different plugin. This is more of a sell service plugin, where that would be a business/sharefarming plugin.

 

hmmh maby an idea why cant there be a little rendering were the miner dosnt pay to mine but gets paid and the owner gets paid 2

 

You should suggest it as a plugin, because its completely different from what your suggesting. This is a service, what your suggesting is a job.

 

Random thought. Would this plugin work -backwards- as far as payment goes?

For instance, all blocktypes ina region have a price of -1 instead of 1, so the owner of said plot pays the workers to mine out the area at the rate of 1 iConBuck per block? I'm not sure how else to explain it. The plugin title seems to imply the owner gets paid when other folks mine out his area; I'm just curious if the same exact concept could be done -backwards- by setting the price for the blocks to negative instead of positive

Then instead of Miner paying Owner, Owner pays miner, which would accomplish what Opie95 wants (if I understood it correctly), and what I could use for mine (made the mistake of deciding I wanted to make a tower and then expand it to a castle - now there's a mountain in the way).


Edit: Minor problem would be having to watch for and cancel a block-break event when the owner is flat broke of course. Just adding a thought.

More just putting out the backward-payment idea because if one plugin can accomplish two goals, why not?

I do see one major issue though, if the owner's broke, the break has to be cancelled. That -could- put this in the realm of another plugin.

Given that I'd say stick with the original plan but look at the possibility of this, as long as there's a way to prevent the owner from going below 0

 

1: If the owner and miner gets payed, where does the ore go?
2: If the owner pays miners to mine ore, you would have to remove the drop before the miner could get it and give it to the owner or else you would have the possibility of scammers or dishonest players.
3: Keeping track of what players mine what would require a data storage method, while the trading service plugin that this is would not.
4: Adding competitive market to a plugin that is not a market plugin.

 

For what I'm looking for:

1) Miner keeps it - I couldn't care less if they want it or not, cause all I need to do is move a 10-30 tall mountain thats in the middle of my darned 100x100 castle >_< (Edit: Went back to check, it's 50 tall -_- good lord why did I pick such a bad spot for a castle.)

2) Not worried for what I needed.

3) Same as above.

4) Same as above.

For what Opie95 needs though now that I did a bit more in-depth reading, his probably would be a similar but separate plugin. Mine, I dun care who keeps the drop, but as it stands none of my 2 players want to help me mine it out and I figure a little automatic incentive would help

Well it would need to be another plugin. He might be able to make a temporary version that allows the mining amount to be negitive. Or it might be possible to make the default a negative from the config file.

This will have config, thats why I'm saying. Besides, if both players earn money, its a source of money coming from out of the air. Its unlimited in source (if the admin sets the block respawn) and it kinda ruins the experience IMO. But yea, I'm sure OP would be glad to allow negative default amounts in the config. As for me, I'm gonna start working on something else instead of camping this thread.

By admins I meant people with access to the config. Probably should have specified what I meant better.

*facepalm* I'm just saying that if you set it to negative, you'll be popping money from out of nowhere, plus unlimited blocks. But thats all up to how you config it.

Seesm like it's a hard to get work, As Zaros said, it's an another plugin. Maybe we can try implement it in future releases, but for now i think we should first release the main plan

don't know if it might be easier for you to make separate plugin for a mine business thing we the owner is paid an amount and the miner is paid and gets the resource but obviously the owner would get like double the amount the miner would or just a config setting so the miner and owner are paid

 

I like this plugin, just need BOSEconomy.
