Dummy players.

I would like to request a very simple plugin, a plugin where you type, for example /dummy Notch, and when player press tab to see who is online, notch's name will be there.

That would be good to simulate people online, and mainly to simulate that admin, or moderator is online, as people usually tend to grief when they are not ont he server.

Would be good if I could be persistent across servers restarts too, as I use some stuff to restart it every 8 hours for performance issues.

No need for the NPC itself, just the name on the tab screen, or on the /list....

 

So a fake-login ?
I think there are some plugins for that. Look for them on http://plugins.bukkit.org

 

Well vanish and andministrate, both have fake login/logout messsages, but only the message, and not the online status.

Also, I found one on bukkitdev, called fakelog, is pretty much what I would like, but unfortunatelly, anyone can issue the command(no Op restriction, or permission), so its kinda dangerous. Also, it has no info about it, commands, how it work... and no persistence neither.

But, well, its a start :3

 

Seems like that would be negative as well, like players needing staff assistance, seeing they're online, and then getting ignored. Could backfire and make your server staff seem neligent.

 

Ok, my real motivation is that my server is too empty, people log in, see few people are online, and log out. ;____;

I dont think its possible to fake client packets to the server in a way that causes them to show up on the tab screen with a plugin.
