A new CraftBukkit Recommended Build (1.3.1-R1.0) that provides Minecraft 1.3.1 compatibility is now available.

Important information about this first Recommended Build following a Minecraft update:
The first Recommended Build, as always, is a slightly more polished development build that we're promoting to a Recommended Build so that people who rely on a Recommended Build being available can try out our development builds and decide if they want to use them.

Will plugins break with this build?
Provided the developers of the plugins you are using are keeping up with the development of Bukkit, all your plugins should work fine.

    Download CraftBukkit 1.3.1-R1.0 here

I keep getting this error for myself and all other players. I have Zombe's Mod installed for flight so i can get around quickly. Every time I use it this error pops up. I do not have a cheat plugin installed at this time and flight is allowed in the server.properties file. What am i missing?

    Code:
    08:26:17 CONSOLE: [WARNING] ghost0001 moved too quickly! -0.08800855137405961,11.535528010250147,-0.8589391547898231 (0.08800855137405961, 11.535528010250147, 0.8589391547898231)

Disable any movement hacks you're using.

When I use zombe's fly mod on my server it constantly puts me at ground level, in console says xxnextenxx moved to quickly? How do I stop this (I am a op).

Sadly we do not want to do this, we want to be able to move freely like we always have been able to. T_T

The latest dev builds can be used by the maintainers of those fly mods to properly work with CraftBukkit to allow flying. Between allowing server crashing code to be left in or allowing mod makers to do this properly, the decision was made to request those mod maintainers to change their methods. In the end, this will be far better than it was in the past.

I using the latest dev builds, my server players said "My building has disappeared!".
I think, rollback chunk of change when unload that...

What method do you use to autosave your server if I may ask? I've been using the 'backup' function in essentials, except with save-all instead of backup, and haven't had any problems yet even after restarting and updating plugins on the server several times.

So from what I understand, the bukkit team now disables the movement modifications we all know and love. Thank you for the explination. I will wait for Zombe or someone else to change their coding so I can fly like I use to. Thank you TnT and mbaxter

oh, and mbaxter, next time can you say the reason instead of "disable it" that gives me no information whatsoever to tell my staff.

It's not Bukkit, it's Minecraft. Bukkit just fixes the mistake that broke it. Here's a message I wrote in another topic:

mbaxter so if I want to use speed hacks and flight other than the built in creative, how would I go about doing this?

Have a plugin tie into the newly developed speed API.

Hey, so first of all, really good job from the bukkit staff on working hard on this, i really appreciate that. although i wanted to say i get some kind of bug while playing in the server that couldnt find anyone that mentioned it, i cant hear the sounds of me walking or interact with staff in minecraft like opening doors or crafttables and when i brake a block it dissapears..I also cant change my gamemode or click anything. dont know if someone got something like this, but if someone knows something, i would be really thankful, thankss.

2 questions. is 1.3.1 still more laggy then 1.2.5 and if so how do i make 1.2.5 work on 1.3.1 clients?

    Swords761

The latest dev builds attempt to address lagginess, but I still hear a lot of complaints that it's not as stable as 1.2.5 bukkit at this moment.

It is impossible to have a 1.2.5 server accept 1.3.1 client connections, or vice versa. Too much code is different on both the client end and the bukkit server end.

well poop.i was hoping there was a way to make the server appear to the client as being 1.3.1 when in fact it is 1.2.5 but ya, i supose the code being so radically different would just make such a work around fail after you connect anyways

For everyone reporting issues with performance, have you tried using the Minecraft 1.3.1 server and seeing what the performance is like to compare?

I had performance issues with the first 1.3 RB that was promoted, but since I changed to #2326 and disabled the snoop option in properties it's been fine at 20TPS.

Client-side fly mods not working is really frustrating, but that's more likely due to something Mojang have done.

He wants to know if the lag is Mojang's code or Bukkit's code.

the minecraft 1.3.1 server works fine for me, i've already tried that. I created a new bukkit server from start without plugins or anything and it works pretty well, so there are some plugins making issues i guess

Are you guys ever going to fix the chunk leakage?

I have like 30,000 loaded chunks and 12,000 entities - Never had this before on 1.2.5
