In the server properties, I've found an option to automatically download a custom resource pack. I'm just wondering, would it be possible to add custom items and mobs with a resource pack?
    Thanks,

You can with items, but not for mobs:
    • If you want new mobs that look like no other mob that is currently in minecraft, then no. If you want new mobs, you need to use mods (which are not supported)
    • If you want to add a mob that looks similar to existing mobs, you may be able to get entity variants, but as far as I know, there is no way for bukkit to dictate which texture they use *(i.e, the textures may change).
For items, all you need to do is create a resoucepack where the items rely on damage variants. You can see an example of how this is done by looking at my QualityArmory plugin and resoucepack.
