Is it possible to copyright a map? Bad admin who I let work on our map decided it would be funny to claim it as his own and copyright it under his name because we didn't copyright it. (This was all after he was banned) Anyway, nothing can be done as it's a map made in a game correct?
I bet you could but honestly, I don't think it would change anything. Unless you're prepared to take legal action against them, people won't think twice about stealing your maps.
I will be copyrighting every arrangement of blocks ever, therefore anything you build, you will be sued for. Serious note, pretty sure you can't copyright something you didn't make from the inside out. And I highly doubt he'll be anywhere remotely prepared to take legal action.
That's not they way copyright law works in the United States. A work is automatically copyrighted unless there is a statement to the contrary. A map in a game can be protected by copyright, although by using Craftbukkit/Minecraft I don't know if there would be any restrictions imposed by them, especially if you started with a generated world. Send a DMCA Takedown Notice to his hosting company. They'll probably make him remove the map and/or cut off his service.
