Solved Console spammed with weird characters

Hey folks,

I updated from CB 1.2.3-R1.0 to CB 1.2.3-R2.0 (both recommended builds) and now I'm suddenly getting all kinds of weird characters in my chat:

[INFO] CONSOLE: Forcing save.. ß[m
[INFO] CONSOLE: Save complete. ß[m

Chat gets COMPLETELY messed up
what I should display: [INFO] ||||||||||M Honeydew: hi
what I see: ß[32m[INFO] ||||||||||ß[37;1mß[33;1mM ß[37;1mHoneydewß[37,1m: hiß[m

It could be color codes showing.

My question is: how do I stop it from showing? So I can just see normally as I used to again.

I am also having this problem. It started after updating Bukkit. I am going to trying the older version again and see if it still does it.

23:41:14 [INFO] ←[35;1m[Server] test←[m

EDIT: Just to clarify, my problem is only in the console. In game "chat" appears as normal

 

Those are ANSI escape codes. They are used to color the console chat. Just add -nojline to the command line you start the server.

If you want the colors to show, this tutorial is what I used to get it to work. Best of luck with your server!
