Although the 'End of Stream' error isn't a new issue, it seems recent changes in Minecraft 1.5 has made this error occur much more frequently. In an effort to diagnose and address this issue, I'd like to start a discussion on it and provide a list of questions for people to answer that will, hopefully, help point us to what the cause is. Please note, this discussion is related to client issues only! If you encounter the End of Stream error when connecting to a Bukkit server, please help us troubleshoot this problem by answering the following questions: General System information What operating system are you running (eg: Windows 7, MacOS 10.6, Ubuntu 10.10)? Are you running a 64 bit or 32 bit version of your OS? What version of Java are you running (java -version)? How much RAM do you have on the system? What are the specs of your CPU? What video card do you have? What video card drivers are you using? What network card do you have? What network card drivers are you using? What firewall or other security software is running? Are you directly connected to your router or on a network? Are you playing the game via a wireless (WiFi) or wired connection? What is your ISP? Minecraft Client Information What version of Minecraft are you running? Are you running Minecraft through the browser or directly on your computer? Are you using any client mods (if so, list them and their versions)? What action were you performing in game when the error occurred? Do you still have these problems when you run Minecraft without any mods? Please only respond to this thread with relevant information. Anything else will be deleted.
