Check if a server is online

Hey guys,

I have a question for you: "How do I check if a server in online/running?" I have two spigot servers and a bungeecord proxy running and I want to check from one server if the other one is online/running. Do you have any idea where to start?

Help is always useful!

 

Mayby send a signal to the second server and if that server doesnt react then its offline? (Only thing i know)

 

Offline-mode servers are not supported on the bukkit forums.

I already found that post on the spigot forums
I also saw a 'Forward' thing, but can't get it work. Do you have any idea how that works?

Additionally, we cannot support offline mode servers as they are inherently insecure and prone to problems.
