    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

I can't join Staff channel, but I am OP. It says: "You cannot to join this channel."Any help on that?
So I fixed it, all I did wrong was I didn't have a capital A in admin under where it said "join:"

HeroChat is CASEsensitive when it comes to who can join and who can speak.

Will herochat ever implement the new permissions files that are globalusers and globalgroups?

I love this chat plugin! Using McMyAdmin client with the new permissions works fine... except herochat :( i have to
change the yml files by hand in the world folder. Id love if herochat could just get the prefixes from the global ymls

One thing to note: If you are using HeroChat, delete EssentialsChat.jar. They fight for dominance over using Prefixes.

For example in CreateCommand you want to get the plugin's tag, but HeroChat.java don't have any getTag() anymore. It is only in the master branch existent.

Great plugin, but after we installed this on our server we can no longer use the "/userstats" or "/whois" on our McMyAdmin powered server. Is there any way to send commands directly to the server, without going through the plugin? I hope someone understand what i mean..

Can someone explain how to give colors to prefixes and names? For example:
    [A] ThePantsThief
    [M] ThePantsThief
    [B] ThePantsThief

Try the guide on this site.

The first prefix would be [&4A] ThePantsThief, and so on

wow ok i feel sort of like a fail so feel free to say i am >.> I have install herochat and its working for the preset channels. When i create a channel it duesnt want to change the chat color of that said channel so I type heres a list:
/ch create Hablle Hablle higglewottums &9 <-- and the color duenst work
/ch create Hablle Hablle higglewottums c9 <---duesnt work
/ch create Hablle Hablle higglewottums c:9 <---duesnt work
/ch create Hablle Hablle higglewottums Light_BLUE <---also duesnt work
so what i tried next was imputing the command letting it make the channel then going into the config and manually setting the color. But this duenst work so every time that i reload the plugin it just resets the config file back to the original and duenst change anything? Im quite confused because even the most up todate video on this plugins simply creates a channel inputs a number *but hes duenst show if it works* then deletes the channel and then to be more informative he says "Im not good with color codes so go check wiki theres a great description there" Which in my odd stock of brilliance every plugin create calls githrub, wiki? So i check githrub and it simply stated the obvious such as heres a list of colors *word form* and it dues not go into description of how to change the channel color. So i check many FAQ, other forums, error reports by people, complaints, The Actual Wiki <--- not githrub this did not work either. So please tell me how to fix it.

Whenever I wanted to change the chat color, I just typed its color in CAPS in the config.yml (at the channel.color node), saved file, and ran the server

@DragonSupremacy Thanks, just what I was looking for! There was a link for colors somewhere, but it's broken now... I got the prefix to change color, but how do I change the color of the name to match the color of the prefix?

    Here's my default-message-format: '{color}[{nick}] &0[{prefix}&0]{player}{suffix}{color}:
And the prefix for Admin, for exapmle: '&4A'
And this returns [g] [A]ThePantsThief: test

Make sure you remove the &0's from the default message format for one, unless you want channels/prefixes to be that color (gray). Also, your "suffix" is what the color of your name will be, so set that accordingly.

I want the brackets around the A to be black, that was on purpose
    I figured it out, thanks!
I took out the brackets in the default format, and put &0[&4A&0]&4 in the prefix, I guess the &4 at the end carries over.

    Yeah, it does carry over

I'm trying to get prefixes to show up in /tell's
    I have incoming working correctly:
    Code:
    incoming-tell-format: '&8From {prefix}{player}{suffix}&8: &d'
But how would I fetch the prefix of {receiver} for the outgoing /tell?
I'm trying the following, but it fetches my prefix and suffix when I use /tell
    Code:
    outgoing-tell-format: '&8To {prefix}{receiver}{suffix}&8: &d'

My head can't understand the regex, so can anyone help how to censor words?

Ex) If I want the word 'Hero' censored, I want 'He ro' and 'H ero' and 'Her o' censored as well, and also words like 'Hhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooo'.

    gothroach

I just upgraded to CB RB 935 from RB 860, and lost the ability for players to join/speak in group-restricted channels. The two channels that I had for staff to communicate in before now just give the 'You cannot join this channel' error. I changed nothing except upgrading CB before it stopped working.

Is this a local issue or is there a problem with HeroChat and CB RB 935?

I'm getting the same problem as gothroach. My restricted channel for staff doesn't let me join it.
