    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Well your first problem is that you're using Permissions 2.1. Start by upgrading to the latest version (currently Permissions 2.5.1). If you still have issues with this version installed, we'll move on from there.

When you try to talk in Global, is it telling you that you don't have permission to speak, or does it just do nothing?
    --- merged: Mar 3, 2011 10:31 PM ---
Nevermind, I see the problem. Get rid of the *'s in your speak and join lists in your HeroChat config.yml. These lists automatically include all groups if they are left blank.

Hmm, your config works fine on my end. All I did was remove the xxxxxx users and replace your name with mine, yielding this: http://pastie.org/1630483.

Is your config named after your world? Could you try again using the exact config I posted and just changing my name back to yours? By the latest version of Permissions, do you mean 2.5.1? Also, what version of CB are you running?

  18. Offline

    stealthmonkey13

i had changed them to blank, and i still cannot join

Yeah I figured the config file was ok. I put the xxx cause I'm. Sure you didn't need the list of names ha.

I have CF 440 and yes permissions 2.5.1

Also, when it runs and I type in chat nothing show, but I see it in the console. Don't know if it relates to this.

I'm in school now so ill try what you posted when I get home.

As suggested by the error, there is an issue with your GM config. I tried loading your config with only GroupManager installed (no HeroChat) and I received a similar error. I suggest you try the same.

Hi there. First off, I just want to say that HeroChat is an awesome plugin :D. Now, I (and others in this thread) seem to be having spacing issues with longer sentences, and none of the previous questions (of the ones I saw, at least) got responses. I'm running HeroChat 4.1, CB 440, and Permissions 2.5.1. Is this just a universal problem which will be eventually fixed, or does it affect only certain people? I looked through the thread quite a bit, but found no answers. If I missed something though and this question has been answered, sorry about that. I've just been wondering what the spacing issue has been about and if there was a fix for it.

stealthmonkey13, my in-game user name is also DThielke.

Bawb, the issue seems to only happen to a handful of users and I haven't been able to reproduce it on my own. It was happening for a few days on our HeroCraft server a little over a week ago, but it hasn't occurred at all with newer versions. Since it is happening on your server, is there any chance you can do some testing to try and figure out what causes the issue? For example, try running only HeroChat and Permissions with default configs and see if it occurs, then slowly reintroduce your other plugins until it happens again. I realize that this is asking a lot, but I'm not sure what else I can do since I can't seem to reproduce the error on my end no matter what I do.
