"Cannot lock session" "Too many open files" errors

Does this every two days or so, crashes my server. Anyone?

Did you increase your file descriptor limit?

Although it is obviously from a poorly coded plugin, list your plugins.

 

I was told that it was a plugin from my server host and told me to investigate my recently added plugins. I'm sure if I asked they'd do it, though.

Really hard to tell, but my guess would be heroscoreboard. That plugin keeps a text file for each players deaths and stuff right? If so, remove that plugin and see if it happens anymore.

Otherwise, any other plugin that creates tons of files. Whenever possible, use MySQL for every plugin you can.

 

I do usually do that. I really do enjoy that plugin, though.
What it seems is that it happens after I added SimpleSpleef and pvparena.
pvparena coded by a staff member and SimpleSpleef seemingly increasingly popular without anyone else having troubles such as myself.

Sometimes Essentials yells at it, too. I've seen essentials have "too many opens" by that plugin itself. I don't think that'd cause it, though. I mean that's a clean project.
