Can I rename a world on Minecraft?

I have a world on my server that I would like to change the name of. Is there anyway I can do this? How?

Hahaha... well you see.. Ive tried that before, but it didnt change the name of the actual world, just that one folder. So when I would log on, it would still say the name of the original name of the world.

 

Okay, you should have mentioned this. What do you mean "when I log on?" You have a plugin that tells you the name of the world when you log on?

 

I need help too. When i first created my server i forgot to set a name for it so now my server basically has no name. I have this app on my iphone that can control my server but i requires the server name so in my server folder theres basically no server folder so i can't even name the server pls help

 

What do you mean "server name"? Are you running a server on your own comp?

 

I also need help. I have a "world" and a "world_nether", but I want to rename it to "MineLand" and "Nether" and use PortalLink to link nether portals. ("MineLand_nether" is okay if needed). If I change the name of the folders, it says a bunch of stuff about "after MC:0.6 the nether needs to be somewhere..." and then it generates "MineLand_nether", "world" , and "world_nether" I JUST WANT TO RENAME MY WORLDS!

EDIT: Nevermind, one of my plugins caused it to recreate worlds if it doesn't find them. Fixed it.

Okay well the server name part doesnt mean anything. I've used that app before. You can put anything there. You should know that you gotta setup JSONAPI. Thats what the app needs.

As for renaming worlds, I have no idea how. I don't think you can actually. You can set a warp to your world and the player won't see the world name. They'd just see the warp name.

you can go to your server property file and set a name there and then rename the world in the root of your server to the exact name in the property file
note: some plug ins when booted up for the first time rely on the world name in the property file so if you change the name of the world could make some plug ins confused or not work properly
