Question Bukkit alternative/fork for a vanilla experience. 1.13

    Hello. I am a vanilla server owner and I would like to keep all the vanilla technicalities that get removed/changed with builds like bukkit or spigot. Like village chaining. Mob cap per player not fixed. etc. But I find that I would really benefit from a blocklogging plugin (Coreprotect) that requires a bukkit or spigot jar.
    Please if you know of any such builds do let me know, Also I am running a 1.13 server so that might make things extra difficult.

    I am a complete rookie at coding and have only done compiling of plugins. How hard would it be to make a fork of spigot or bukkit that would change/remove those changes in behavior? If it is even possible without making a whole new seperate thing from scratch?
    Also is there a reason it was never done before? I'm sure there was someone in a similar situation like I am at the moment

    Hard enough to skip it.
    Maintaining server software that has to change on regular base costs a lot of time. Some things get changed because they are deemed broken, inefficient or just unwanted.
