Torches are open flames, and need to be treated with caution. You can place a torch and knock a torch off its area from a few blocks away, so the idea of you actually walking over a torch or having your head be in the same block as a torch should have possible consequences. Would it be possible to have torches possibly ignite the player on fire if the players character is in contact with the torch? Maybe make it a random percent in a configurable setting. Maybe this could also happen for mobs that come in contact with torches?

No admin commands that I can think of. Just a configurable percent so sometimes a player can pass by unharmed, and sometimes you get burned. Maybe a separate config for the chance of a mob catching fire. Thanks for attempting this... can't wait to see the plugin!
