Java for dummies is 900 pages. Who would read that whole thing? You honestly dont need to learn that much java before you begin Bukkit. You learn as you go. People will nag at you to learn java but just do your thing.

    Start with youtube.

Blah1 and there's a reason so many questions here can be solved with a simple Google search. Because they didn't take the time they should have to learn java.

If you know the basics of OOP then you are good. The rest is research into the bukkit API and syntax. Head First Java is an amazing book that helped me a lot.

    (I read Java for Dummies)
I thought it was a good place to start, if you like reading. If not, Youtube would probably be the way to learn

The_Doctor_123 I'm not. I'm just saying that you don't need to take 5 Java classes and read a 1000 page book just do use the Bukkit API. Java is good to know. But you don't need to learn everything before you start.

Umm, for one, I just read the book, and only read about 60% of it. Took me a week to do that, which is very fast. Secondly, you must know Java before starting to learn the Bukkit API(as stated in my signature) or your knowledge may become somewhat corrupted, and you'll learn slower in the end.

Using the bukkit api and not understanding java concepts will not benefit the person.
