Beacon Beams - spawning without beacons?

    Is it possible to get a Beacon beam effect thing in the world without a beacon? The only way I can think to create a beacon beam with a plugin would be to set the blocks to create a beacon (3x3 iron square and a beacon on top). It seems like bukkit should have an entity for beacon beams or something?

    Any help is appreciated, thank you!

    Beams are an affect, not an entity :p

    And there is no way to spawn a beam only AFAIK, i've searched before
