Applet communication with bukkit?

    I am new to java, and I was wondering: I have a website on the same computer as my server. Is it possible for a Java applet on that website to communicate with bukkit plugins? I want the applet to be able to get the worldguard region a specified player is in.

    If this is possible, how would I do it? Thanks for any help!
