One plugin which isnt supported anymore took this a step further. It also enabled to chose on which surfaces mobs wouldn't surface. For example, I hate mobs spawning on trees, so the plugin made it possible to disable spawning on blocks 17 or 18. Sadly this plugin hasn't been updated in months. I would love it if your plugin could do this
Very simple, and exactly what I needed! However, I'm wondering if it will cut down on mob numbers when I prevent say creepers from spawning, or will the server just reroll the monster type?
Do you mean it like no monsters spawn on, for example, grass or do you want to differentiate between mobs like no chickens on trees but pigs?
It will only stop the blocked monster from spawning and it will not spawn an other monster in its place or what do you mean?
Well, let's say three creepers were to spawn near a player... if your plug-in blocked them, would zombies or spiders for example spawn instead soon after?
My plugin will not spawn them, but I think bukkit has an internal monster regulation.

Well that plugin had a list of every cubes they could spawn on and you could delete the ones you didn't want them to spawn on. It would be actually easier to have a list of the place they shouldnt spawn on, it would make for shorter lists...
Its easy for animals as they only spawn on grass and sand (I think). But for monsters, its pretty annoying to have them spawning on trees, rooftops (planks, stairs, stepstones), etc.

What do you think is better a list of blocks for each mob or a list for a group of mobs (animals, monsters)?
By groups would be ok as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for taking the suggestion btw, it was apretty popular plugin just because of that feature but nobody could update it once it was abandonned.

Got a question : if i disabled spawning with your plugin, can i use the /spawnmob command from essentials? Or does your plugin disable every form of spawning? (natural and from admin command)?
I don't know and I can't test it out because /spawnmob does nothing (or I am just too silly)
Ok i need to test. Because i got essentials 2.2 and if spawn-monsters is false in server.properties, /spwanmob doesn't work! So i set it to true but there are lots of monsters and i just want to /spawnmob .
is it possible to have certain worlds without monsters? I want my main world to have monsters but another world to have fun with creation.
Well I am working on fully multiworld support so you can differ between the worlds...

Love your plugin. Could you add commands (if possible with permissions) to enable or disable spawns without having to restart the server? (Like in the plugin FireControl.)
And maybe a command to remove mobs. As some mobs (like squids) don't despawn and therefor stay (although new spawns are prevented perfectly). So a command that removes all squids for example.
Spawning simple zombie or skeleton work on nether world ?
