@Teh_Matt_GR You can use my Plugin. QualityArmory allows for guns to be added to minecraft, without replacing any existing items. The 3D textures are automatically applied when the player joins. As for the code, you can view all the source code on the Github page.
@Teh_Matt_GR It isn't. The .model files that are used for 3D textures were only added in 1.9. Anyway, why are you still on 1.8? If it is because of PVP, there are dozens of plugins out there that bring the pre-1.9 pvp to the newer updates. Besides that, there is no reason to stay on older updates, and will cause more problems in the future. You should update your server.
