2 people on my server asked to be op to test anti-griefing plugins

We get that from time to time. Or that they're admins for a server list website, and they want to review your server for a special portion of their website, so they need to be op'ed to validate a few things.

I tend to prefer the "Reverse-Nigerian" on them, in much the same way that I try to re-scam the 'Nigerian Prince' emails. Try telling them that one of your plugins requires ops to authenticate their account, so you'll just need their Minecraft credentials and you'll run them through the system (or something). 99% of the time, you'll go around in circles with them until they get bored and log out. Every once in a while though....

 

You're no fun, I was gonna see if they'd PM me... they sure seem to be stupid enough to...

Edit: I was actually hoping they had some code and were gonna ask for FTP or SSH or something, I even had a VM all ready for them!

 

My favorites are the ones that log in, try /i 46 64 and leave when it doesn't work.

 

I wonder if they were stupid enough to use their minecraft account password with xAuth

 

This my friend, is some serious horse crap. They can't do anything if they are OP besides ban, kick, stop the server and more. Don't do anything, just ban.

How is that "fail" again? And duh, everyone thinks avo was/is on it... don't know what you expect...

 

The fail is that it is in offline mode and that is just asking for hackers, name spoofers and greifers. Then you come to us for help about your laggy offline mode cracked server? So much fail.

Ive never had this problem but I do have random people log on and try to spawn TNT it's fun to mess with then and give a full inventory of the stuff to them and watch them try to blow it up without any levers or anything then when they finally find something to use it it doesn't work cause TNT doesn't damage on my server anyways
