I feel weirdly honored that two communities (one from a banned player) ripped/cloned large parts of A304's design and functionality.

Server #1 (cloned the spawn) removed the spawn and banned me and all my staff. Server #2 (cloned part of the side and most of the forums) is still up. Comparison screenshots:

Typical day: Wake up, see email from pingdom, check network graph, realize there's a DDoS attack, spend hours fixing it, rinse and repeat.

A304.net — We're the DDoS magnet! Come on over and witness amazing sights, like absorbing 4TB of UDP in 2 days!

      :O

Does it get a black screen when it crashes? And does it have any errors in the logs?

I too get random crashing, but its like once a month. Had them hook up KVM and the screen is just black....no errors at all in log, just a black screen. Sometimes a drive will pop out of the RAID array and always are corrupt SQL databases.

No clue, I haven't been attached to it when it crashed. Any errors I've posted in the thread. It crashes only when I get hit with one of those massive SYN floods, there are no other random crash issues.

Also, for some reason the thread I posted a year ago about my ODG ddos issues has ended up with a high Google rank and an impressive viewcount. Hmmpff.

Yeah, something to do with my IP only and how it logs it.

Should work after my IP changes sometime.

Wooo, an SSD failed and ONCE AGAIN dropped out of the array and I cannot bring it back into it...

Now time to see if I can convince Hetzner to replace the drives for free (doubt it). Although they did hook me up with free KVM for 3 hours..

        NVM, was not bad....

They said it was good and they just rebuilt my RAID array... Have no clue how they did it, but they did.

I already have... 7 domains? NameCheap isn't a very good register, look at the renewal fees and how much they charge for privacy...

Oh crap. How much do they charge for renewal?

I have 1 domain with GoDaddy and they are probably the worst you can get.

Almost $11 to renew, plus $2.88 just for privacy.

I buy my "normal" TLDs at Internet.bs. $8.49 .coms with free privacy? Hell yeah!

Erm, I think that opens up a LOT of exploits. I haven't checked on HF, but I'd bet the devs are finding shitloads of exploits.

Also, I ordered the server :D

Nice! They usually set it up pretty fast, maybe it will be ready by today.

Also I am not expert, but the blocks breaking and placing actions would also have to be sent to the server. So my guess is that nocheat should be able to do something to prevent exploits.

I don't know how long it'll take, but who knows.

Yeah, but with it being done client-side, it'll become easier to hack in vanilla. Instant block breaking should now become possible.

I think I will see what Spout can do. They said they would have a plugin bridge or something? I would rather use Spout than have to update and reconfigure all of my plugins.

        JohnTheRipper
Well, the server isn't even fully written yet, but when it's done it should have multi-thread support, it should be more lightweight, easier/faster to update, and supporting both Bukkit and Spout plugins.

This notification is to inform you that the Continuum Data Centers
facility will be conducting network maintenance including hardware
upgrades on our core network infrastructure. While every effort will
be made to minimize downtime, clients should be prepared for the
possibility of increased latency and loss of service during the
      maintenance period.

Just noticed that your host colocates in the same datacenter as mine.....Continuum datacenter. I think, it is the Chicago one or something like that.

You should setup Pingdom on that server, I am curious as to what your uptime is like. I am personally moving by the end of this billing term, the network, the hardware and support is great, but the network uptime sucks: http://stats.pingdom.com/0cvypbl0bmqq
