hello, my quesiton is will i have to create new map in order that jungle biome loads -.- ? i head jungle biomi will start load when map is not discovered ? if i put it in example i explored 50% of sand biome then i download 1.2 and instal it, then i keep discovering then there is cutoff edge and in middle of sand biome there is jungle biome. will it be like that ?
You will have to generate new chunks in your map, either by creating a new map or by further exploring the current map. Please note that since the map generation code has changed, your borders between the pre-1.2 and 1.2 generated maps will be significant.
damn it... is it possible to copy whole village there is near 15 houses, do you think if i copy/paste this with world edit that server will freeze :/?
Instead of copying, install a multiworld plugin So that you can have the old map, and then you can have a 1.2 map, maybe with a portal between. On the server that im working on we did that with 1.1, and i think we're going to do it with 1.2 also There is 2 downsides: Ram issue, because of more plugins, and more worlds rendering More HDD space, because a map can take up some space, though you have to explore much to fill out a 60gb hd Hope this helped you ~Doblez
Maps now save a generator tag in the level.dat, so .1 maps will not have jungle biomes afaik. Two options to get them: 1) edit the level.dat to have 1.2's generator tag 2) Edit the biome data of the chunks when in 1.2, and make an artifical biome 3) WorldEdit/VoxelWhatever/Editing tool here.
We tested our current map with 1.2.3 dev-version of Bukkit tonight, and jungles were generated in unexplored areas, i.e. in areas where chunks were not yet generated.
yeah i tested it to and it sucks terrain is awesome for 1.2 but it is ugly when you combine 1.1 and 1.2 terain :S and there are stil lots of bugs some of them are that trees are random cuted off same goes for terrain.
