I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.

In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)

Ouch all that red text hurts. So does that mean logblock will die soon? Hate to switch to something else, hopefully wont have to as it seems to be working fine with 1.2.2 bukkit dev 2008 other then not having questioner.

I run a server that averages 40 - 60 players, and for a medium sized community, this plugin works great! It has saved my world from utter destruction multiple times already. Additionally, when the server rollbacks, I can use the /redo command to salvage some of the progress.

My question is - will the new height limit of Minecraft 1.2 affect how LogBlock will work on our server? If so, will we have to reset all of our logs? When is the new build being released?

EDIT: Scratch that, I just read the post. Now I'm going to go to a corner to cry.

Was worried when I read that he won't update to mcsapi but great news that it's working with dev builds for 1.2.2 as this is really an essential part of my server and I wouldn't be able to have the server running without it.

    Thanks to turt2live
That was a lookup, there is no way it could have rollbacked anything. But the error is odd, try with a higher limit.

The height limit won't affect anything, LB never used hardcoded 127 anywhere. The database column type is unsigned byte, so 255 will fit.
Link to the dev builds is the second link in OP.

    Hello,

These are great plugins and I have used it for a long long time and it's the best thing since sliced bread. Here is a problem I found, the bedrock tool doesn't work for me. Any idea?

    FuRiouSOne

Well as long as bukkit doesnt make any major changes again then logblock should work perfectly for a long time without updates id assume :).

Be nice if that Guardian project would kick off and combine all 3 good plugins into 1 but hey people have real lives and other hobbies i guess.

Same thing as this, other than it being just plain block logging.

In what way? Returning no results, being just placed, telling you've got no permissions?
    Exactly.

Well I checked, I have full permissions. The only tool that doesn't work is the bedrock (id 7).

    Ok,

Well I checked more into this it looks like logblockquestioner or w/e it is called is having errors.

Alright. I haven't tested this because I don't have time at the moment. This should work with the latest dev version of 1.2.3: http://natewiebe.com/LogBlock-1.51-1.2.7z

(If someone could test and let me know. =D)

    Hi guys,
We just bumped on a giant problem on the server.
Logblock works fine with checking everything. Now something got griefed, immensely griefed and I used the rollback command like I always did. It finds the griefer, tells me the amount of blocks to rollback. But then When it asks
Are you sure you want to continue?
    -/yes, /no?
Normally typing /yes will just rollback that amount.
    But now, we get....
    Unknown command..

Anyone knows how to fix this? it happened after the update.

Started up with no errors, I will report back if I get any other issues that come up. Even using build 108 yesterday I was getting mysql errors left and right. I'll let you know if I get anything like that ;)

Edit: I just got the following error when I shut the server down to do another batch of updates

I'm not taking over the plugin, so I'm not sure exactly what's happening. But I will look into it. I didn't change any code, just recompiled with the new library and converted the listeners to the new event system.

Why does not my LogBlock Log any blocks??

  31. Offline

    Nate Wiebe

So I tested it for ~5 minutes. No errors from MySQL. One thing I did notice is that the login time, etc stayed at 0, but I'm not too concerned about that. The error you get is most likely a bug from the original code since I didn't change any of the actual logic.

Ohh.. And the version I released DEPENDS on WorldEdit. Make sure you have it enabled.
