1.2, Tomorrow.

Mojang's site has what I'm assuming is the official 1.2 Client and Server jars up. I can somewhat confirm this because in-game at Menu, it reads Minecraft 1.2 and not "12w" w/e. They also are saying that they're planning on releasing 1.2 tomorrow.

Does anyone know if any of the Bukkit crew are already starting to work on builds for it to be available on dl.bukkit.org? I'm not sure what time they'll be actually releasing the update(either in the morning in Stockholm or the evening to release it at prime time in North America, I'm not sure how they work). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

 

To tell you the honest truth...there won't be a bukkit release for 1 to possibly 2 weeks max. Its usually like this for almost every Minecraft Update.

but don't worry, we'll get one before canary releases one xD

When they're working on the builds, they're constantly updating and uploading the latest version on their Jenkin's site. They took that down a little over a month ago because it was causing problems with the Forums here, but now they have that dl.bukkit.org site, which kind of does the same thing. They've been working as recent as today on 1.1. That's why I was wondering if tomorrow they'll shift their focus to 1.2. I know its not "recommended" because they're still working on it, finding bugs, fixing them, etc.

 

A dev build should be out tomorrow, for 1.2. Dinnerbone said on his twitter, he is on the last stage of updating and it will take him the rest of the night (8-12 hrs). So expect one sooner than you think

Jeb also tweated some thing about testing 1.2 on the webpage and hes getting an error currently so he needs to sort that out.

Edit just tweeted he gave up on that error said fix it for 1.3 :/ that can't be good.

The Bukkit Team were working to push 1.1-R5 out last night. Seems like they're too late because there's 1.2, lol.
Tomorrow is today, and still nothing yet. Don't expect much for now.

 

There is already a 1.2.2 dev build - that was so fast :|

FYI to those who are trying...when I installed the earliest 1.2.2 dev builds, they don't seem to be booting. As for me, I'm going to to wait a smidge to see if they're having some "out-of-the-gate"jitters.

As sillyroster said, Dinnerbone worked on it overnight.

I'm sure they'll have a working one by the end of the night. I'm gonna mess with it myself and see if I can get it to work. If there are problems I might try removing all of my plugins temporarily to see if that fixes it.

As of right now 12 P.M. Central(1 P.M. Eastern), the current Bukkit jar(#1997) is not working correctly. I'll try again later today with a newer build.

I hope they get a bukkit download for 1.2 up not too long after this one. I understand it takes A LOT of work, but I just want to go on my server. Eh, might as well just use my slow pc thats downstairs and try to go on my server with it while I'm waiting. I didnt update that one yet.

 

lolz, yes my buddy is having trouble trying to find himself a download for 1.1 As he clikced the prompt for v1.2.... Doing this does prevent you from being able to log onto the server. I fortunately kept v1.1 and selected the "not now" button. I did however submit to change my version from 1.1-R4-#1938 to 1.1-R6-#1988. I am almost tempted to go to vanilla so to take advantage of the Minecraft update, but I decided that reconfiguring the addons once I switch back would not be too convenient as I am always working on my server and/or server site.
I suspect the bukkit update to 1.2 to be out (in my opinion) March 6th, 2012.
