   I'm probably going to get a lot of people laughing at my ignorance, but I need to ask this anyways. Why has the BlockListener been deprecated along with all its associated events?

   all listeners have been deprecated... this is the wrong forum to ask... you should ask in developer help(?)..
   
   they implemented a new system which is faster... but except the javadocs there is no documentation yet even on a pull request this old..
