Hello Bukkit users! We are using Permissions by Yeti at the moment, but it is getting outdated. Which permissions plugin should we use now? Which is the best one? Best Regards, Bularax
i use permissionsEX and work like charm for me only 2 issues is that all nodes need to be lower case and 1st player permissions than group permissions but for the rest part it work just perfect but you can try bpermissions and i dont know any other permissions plugin so try them
I'm having the same question - I wiped out my old plugins folder, starting fresh - (I did back it up first, may dig out some data from the old ones) - currently on the 1.0.1 RB until 1.1 gets 'finalized' - but figured I'd better start looking at (and installing) plugins. The three that I've found and am currently deciding between are: PermissionsBukkit - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/permbukkit/ bPermissions - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/bpermissions/ -Has a web-gui optional module: bPermissionsWebGUI - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/bpermissionswebgui/ PermissionsEx (PEX) - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/permissionsex/ -Compatibility layer with TheYeti's Permissions (2.7.4) (as a separate part of the plugin). In most cases plugins, which use Permissions, will alsowork with PEX also. I'm currently leaning between bPermissions and PermissionsEx myself. All three support SuperPerms, which is the new (build 1000+) way to handle permissions, so all should be compatible with any SuperPerms-compatible plugin, from my understanding so far. Perhaps some more knowledgeable folks could let us know what the other major differences are? Any serious downsides to any of these? Major features I'm glossing over that are worth putting weight behind?
I was leaning the other way (bPermissions first, then PEX if that didn't work for me), as the WebGUI sounds like it would be VERY handy.
We are having some problems with converting our permissions 3.x to a permissions 2.x file to migrate it to Permissionsex, can someone help us?
I switched from Permissions 3.x over to permissionsEX. PermissionsEX if the way to go! As for converting all your permissions. I just re typed out the permissions. (copy & paste is a big help) all in all was a 5-10 minute switch from permissions to permissionsEX
If you'd rather use bPermissions - you can import from P3 to bPermissions with a single command "/permissions import p3" FTW
