    Permissions 3.0
    Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

    See you when I get back!

    Is your config resetting when you make changes?
    If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

    Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
    HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

    Current issues I am seeing, hoping that 5.0 will resolve them...

    1. User prefix/suffix overrides group prefix/suffix, unless the user's perm doesn't have any set. IMO, these should concatenate together, so that for example I can have a custom blue name, but still get the red [Admin] before my name. Why would I want this when I can just set my user prefix? I de-admin myself (using PEX commands and CommandHelper) so that I can play legit with my players. This way, they don't think I am using god mode or item summons. (My current solution is giving every mod/admin their own CommandHelper command and a personal mod/admin group.)

    2. HeroChat overrides other /help functions, preventing them from displaying general help commands. When HeroChat is loaded, the /help command returns the "quick message" help text. There is no workaround for this and has become the bane of my entire server setup. HeroChat needs to either change the way it uses this command, or give us a way to disable it via permissions or configuration. SOLVED: Help channel cannot be named 'Help'. (Best to leave it as 'HelpMe". Thanks to Rich Boos.

    3. HeroChat only has /tell as the private messaging command. It should offer to override /msg and /pm so that they all work as aliases to /tell. I have overridden this with CommandHelper (/msg $var1 $ = /tell $var1 $), but I shouldn't have to. If I don't override this, another plugin I use SimpleClans likes to tag the clan name onto the user name in a strangely-formatted private message (even though I have disabled clan chat).

    Otherwise, this plugin is flawless. I have tried other chat plugins only to see them a disaster in commands and usage. This plugin MUST be updated! Keep it up! :)

    In the chat config, there are these lines:

    incoming-tell-format: '{prefix}{player} &8->&d '
    outgoing-tell-format: '{prefix}{player} &8->&d '

    what tag should i use instead of {player} to see from whom the message is coming from in incoming messages instead of seeing my own name?

  22. I set the group of players with these permissions in the negative (I've highlighted) and also can use the command / tell.

    This command is torture, this is impossible me off.

    I have to configure to disable it?

  23. Offline

    PMCrafter

    why do you did this??
    do you have something like bukkit.command.* in your perms or why do you have "- - bukkit.command.tell" there? you dont need that because if you dont write a permission there, the player dont have the permission!
    remove those lines, so the players cant use that anymore...

    AND: are you sure this is the right way to disable perms (example: for moderators that have - '*',but you dont want they can do /op)

    You can solve this one by editing the HeroChat config. Your help channel by default uses /help for a quick message, change that to something else like /h.

    PMCrafter

    you can do it with essentials.

    i mean: im the best in permissions programming -.-

    So I am creating a new server, 2 plugins on it. bPermissions and HeroChat. I got HeroChat working and after I finished bPermissions, which is what I used to set up with perfix and suffix. It still isn't working. I don't know what isn't working though, I know the prefix and suffix isn't working at all, no errors in console.

    Are using 4.x? You'll need the custom bPermissions 4.x compat build http://bpermissions.com/HeroChat.jar
