I have a bukkit 1.01 server running on my Amd FX 8 core computer and the ram usage is fine but when it comes to cpu after maybe a explosion or a few players log on it sits and stays around 95 to 100% cpu usage heres a speccy of my system http://speccy.piriform.com/results/P1YbG8E5Ho8UnlAfwGQTvXa

    8. None as of my current setup exept for is the server overloaded messages when it starts (and i GET ALOT of them ;) )
    9. This also happened with the server i was running before 1.0 (cant remember build number) i though updating to 1.01 build 1597 would fix this.
    10. Yes im not too sure but believe it runs fine on the basic. The log has been included in the attached file

Hey, how fast is the processor in GHz? Remember, Minecraft Server isn't multithreaded very much and having so many processor cores makes much less of a difference than speed.

How many players does it start to spike up to max with?

I know that the AMD FX's are really not that great at single-threaded applications, but still should not spike up with a little users on join.

Wow, just checked the log.....you have some major issues.

The only thing I can think of is maybe there is a lag bomb somewhere in the world? Just as a test, start a temp new world and see what happens.

are you talking about the start of the log? and il see

i will run a full day test with a temporary world tommorow and check the cpu usage im thinking possibly part of the world may be corrupt?

If the problem does not occur on a new world, please zip the world and upload it to mediafire.com - I can fix corrupted worlds :)

That would be great if it comes to that

You might have installed java 7, but that looks like you point to java 6 in your batch file.
Unless you installed java7 in a folder called jre6 you should fix that. Java7 already helps a bit on CPU usage. But as pointed out by others, there still seems to be something else that causes these massive issues.

OK well you didn't really say if you looked into the java7 issue, but I'm still willing to give two last hints:
Disable all plugins and put them back in slowly one by one, until the issue occurs again. If you even get this with no plugins at all, switch to Linux. Servers really shouldn't run on Windows for several reasons.

Sorry, but that is your issue. You should NEVER play and host off the same PC.

Incorrect, if your CPU is powerful enough and you have enough free RAM, it's totally possible to play and host. With my desktop, I have so much RAM and such a ridiculously powerful CPU that I can do just about anything without causing lag (browsing, TF2, Minecraft, video rendering (the i7 is awesome for this), etc), unless it's uploading/downloading large files.

nononono i dont think you understand im not playing off the same computer i narrowed it down to a few plugins admincmd seems to cause some serious problems i removed it and battlekid you are definitely right i have played off the same computer and hosted before it runs fine but atm i am playing off my laptop so the computer has as much free resources as it needs
