Can't connect to my own server, and neither can friends.

Hello, Bukkit community.

So, I recently got a new cable modem from CableOne, it's an Arris TG852 Wireless/Wired Cable modem/router. When i went into the settings to set up some port forwarding, it is kind of bland... I thought i set it up right, and i'm almost sure i did, but my minecraft server won't let anyone connect aside from me only if i use 0.0.0.0 as my IP. I'm hoping there will be a solution to this

I may not have done it right. Like i said, this is nothing like my previous modems/routers.

 

what is your ipv4 Adress?
When using Comando prompt with "ipconfig /all" command
use that as private IP
also Activate it with the little Box in the left

This totaly depends on you router as for my it 10.0.0.XXX also i have once set it to be 255.250.240.XXX

Now, when i type in my ipv4 address i can log in, can other people use that, or no?

 

Assuming this is still how you have it forwarded, the IP you put in there is wrong. It should be 192.168.0.3.

 

I fixed that, as said in my last post.

 

People who are not in your LAN should connect to the external IP. People who are inside your LAN (aka you, or when you have friends over) can connect to the internal IP.

OK I have a similar problem I guess but in my case I can connect to my server. Others can't stay on it longer than 20 seconds. I use hamachi, so my friends can connect to my server. I've disabled my virus protection and firewall so they are able to connect. But why they got kicked after 20 secs?

That could be a variety of things if this is happening a lot. You should make a different thread though.
