Distant Farm keeps your plants growing while you're away using the same algorithms Minecraft uses. The plugin keeps track of plants and attempts to calculate their growth based on the time you've been absent. It uses very little memory and CPU, and doesn't require any commands or setup to work! Features: Plants that keep growing with no players nearby: Crops Nether Warts Trees (all types) Melon Multi-world support Plants only grow while the server is online. Lightweight with minimal impact on server memory/CPU usage. Easy to use, no configuration needed. I added it on bukkitdev before I made this thread actually. As for the suggestions: Some videos or screenshots would definitely be great. I'm not sure on how to show plants growing though. I'm not much of an artist. I'd like to remake the logo, but I think it'll do until someone can help me improve it. That I'll do! The reason I put it on the bottom was to give some first-impression clarity about what the new plugin is about. I'll be changing it around now that I release 0.2! There wasn't really any changelog for the first release, so I decided to wait until 0.2. So here it comes! Actually the permissions-support hasn't been implemented yet, therefore I can't give any heads on what nodes I'll be using. I want the plugin to be as much plug-n-play as possible, but any suggestions on what permissions could add are appreciated! Cheers!
This is GREAT! I really missed the old mod. Will all seeds need to be replanted before it works? I cannot however find the download for 0.2? It would be nice to have this feature on furnaces too I'm not so sure about mushrooms. The Nether would be overloaded with them xD;
Forget the thing I said about mushrooms, I just figured out why my mushroom farm wasn't working I also found the download for 0.2 now. The mod doesn't seem to work though, I think maybe some other mod is bothering it. Most probably mcMMO. That's the only mod I have that does anything with farming.
Unfortunately there's no reasonable way to do this without relying on manual replant. I'm considering adding some way circumvent this (registering/unregistering plants by right-clicking with a hoe for example). Adding furnaces was something I considered when starting this project, I decided to keep this to plants only though (hence the name). If I'd get around doing furnaces it would probably be in a sister-plugin or some kind of module. Native mushrooms shouldn't be a problem since they have to be registered(replanted) to spread. Great! I'll look into if there's any compability-problem with mcMMO. Do you have any other plugins that interacts with chunk (un)loading? EDIT: I'm not finding anything that would interfere. mcMMO and DistantFarm are working perfectly fine together on my test-server. So I believe there is some other plugin interfering.
Thanks for checking I got a user saying nether warts are growing while away, but the melons do not. I also planted melons yesterday, but no melons yet. My wheat farm is looking strange. Texture pack has been mixed up. It shows pumpkin and nether texture (in a weird way) xD but only on one of my wheat farms. Replanting is probably the easiest way.
Did you make sure you installed 0.2? Does saplings work? As for the texture-problem, I actually have no idea. I'll look into it though. Do you have any client-mods installed, like Spout?
Yeah, I have 0.2 [DistantFarm] v0.2[Alpha] enabled. I have a problem with my server crashing (I have had this since before I added Distantfarm), so I currently only have mcMMO and PEX mods installed. This is to find out if any of the mods are causing trouble. I will enable the other mods one each day, so I will soon figure out what mod is colliding with yours I just did a test with only mcMMO, PEX, and DistantFarm installed: I planted 16 melon seeds, a bunch of wheat, and 7 trees. and logged out. When I logged back on after an hour, 8 of the melons where fully grown (even though some of them didn't have a fully grown plant). The rest of the melons plants didn't have melons, but were mostly grown. About half of the wheat was fully grown, the rest was almost ready for harvest. The trees hadn't grown at all. I think it was Oak trees.
