Any ideas how to best fix this problem?

I run a small server off of my compupter at home for about 7 friends and myself. The server runs smoothly and I don't have many issues, but one thing happens every now and then and it causes some major problems. If there is a power outage or something like that and it turns my computer off while the server is still running I get a bunch of corruption. Any idea how to best fix this?

 

Use Chunkster. It's best.

 

get a UPS for your computer that can keep it going for upto an hour. within that time you could of successfully type save-all and shutdown your server correctly.
or, use software like MCEdit or Chunkster (as stated) above to repair the map.
However, Chunkster/McEdit will only repair the map. if you have lost items you gained, things you built, etc.etc. then they cannot be recovered.

 

As cool as Chunkster is - using a cheap UPS would probably solve the problem at its root.
