An easy way to create shops - no protection plugin needed!​

Requirements:​

- Minecraft server that runs CraftBukkit​

- An economy plugin supported by Register or Vault, for example iConomy, BOSEconomy or Essentials Eco.​

Optional:​

- For additional economy plugin support - Vault​

- For Permissions: bPermissions, PEX, or any other permission plugin​

- For additional protection: LWC, Lockette, Deadbolt ​

- For other item names (aliases): OddItem​

Setup:​

Copy the .jar file from the .zip you downloaded into /plugins folder. ​

You can also copy the example files if you want to generate statistics page. ​

How to create a ChestShop?​

- Place a chest, if you haven't already.​

- Place a sign 1 block near the chest (for example, above the chest)​

- On the sign, write:​

​

(Item name can actually be item ID or alias)​

First line will be filled in by the plugin automatically. ​

Price is a combination of buy and sell price.​

You have to have B near buy price (people buy from you), and S near sell price (people sell to you).​

If you have both B and S, separate them with a colon - : ​

For example:​

​

means that AcrobotPL wants to sell 64 diamonds for 10 currency, and buy them back from you for 5 currency.​

Also, if you put "free" instead of price, it is free to buy or sell ​

- Now, when you finish editing the sign, if LWC is turned on in config, shop will be automatically created.​

Also, if your default protection is turned on in the config, people won't be able to break chest, sign or the block the sign is on.​

What is an Admin Shop?​

Admin shop is the shop that doesn't require a chest, because it has infinite stock.​

If you sell to it, the items will disappear, and if you buy from it, items will magically appear.​

To create one, you have to be Admin/OP. Just put "Admin Shop" (or anything specified in config file) on the first line of the sign.​

Restricting shops to some groups or regions​

You can either use permissions, or you can just put a sign ABOVE shop sign (you need to be in that group to create the sign) to restrict it to players with ChestShop.group.groupName permission ​

The syntax is:​

[restricted]​

3rdGroupName​

Only those groups will be able to use that shop​

To restrict a shop to some regions:​

- If you're using Towny, turn TOWNY_INTEGRATION on. Residents will be able to create shops in economy plots (either their or, if specified in config, any)​

- If you're using WorldGuard, you can use an experimental "chestshop" flag. Turn WORLDGUARD_INTEGRATION on and flag a region. (f.e. /region flag ChestShopRegion chestshop allow) ​

Do you want to limit the maximum prices for items?
Well, there's an app.... wait, not that : P
You can use an experimental feature in ChestShop.
In your config.yml, add lines like:
max-buy-price-5: 14
max-sell-price-5: 15

That means that the maximum price for items BOUGHT by PLAYER is 14, and items SOLD by PLAYER using the shop is 15.

You can also use a global setting, like this:
max-sell-price: 200

That means that the maximum price for items SOLD to PLAYER is 200 (if there is, for example, a max-sell-price-5 found, it will be used instead of the global sell price)

USING SHOPS ​

You could buy and sell by right and left clicking the sign for a long time.​

Now it's the only way to use the shops.​

It's SIMPLE!​

Just LEFT-CLICK to SELL to shop, and​

RIGHT-CLICK to BUY from shop.​

(This can be changed in the config file) ​

DESTROYING SHOPS​

If you want to delete your old shop, simply SNEAK and destroy the sign.​

It's that easy =)​

STOCKING THE SHOPS​

You can either open the chest and stock it up, or click on your own sign - it will open chest's inventory (that way you can have chests not openable by other people for sure ) ​

ItemInfo command​

It's a simple command that shows item information.​

If you use it without any arguments, it shows you information about the item you're holding.​

If you specify item id or item name after the command, it will show you information about that item.​

You can't change the sign color - that breaks the formatting.​

Also your ServerAccount must be the same as "SERVER_ECONOMY_ACCOUNT". Warning it may be case-sensitive!

Why don't you count yourself? Or do you mean the shop sells 300 per purchase but you want only 200?

 

request: make it if I set the price to 0 on my admin shop to let the players buy it for 0, this way I can create a way for them to get infinite blocks for building and etc

Thanks, problem was name of "SERVER_ECONOMY_ACCOUNT" . Now it works.

There's already "free" for this.
If you set the price free then they can buy or sell for 0 coins/dollars/whatever.

Not exactly yet, but you can make a double (or even a single) chest, and place many signs near it.

I've been trying to get this plugin to work for a few days now..I have gone through my permissions,group manager,set different permissions and everything many many times.. I do not know what the problem is at all.any help is much appreciated.

When I remove the sign, the money does not return in my account. However when I create a shop, the money is well output.
In the file of configuration I put the same amount in SHOP_CREATION_PRICE and SHOP_REFUND_PRICE.

 

In game it will not create admin shops or chest shops

 

Hello, could you add something to create shop with another iconomy account ?
If you are admin, you can change the owner of the shop by placing the username on the first line. I would like to allow users to do the same thing when they have the good permission.

Something like this : ChestShop.user.userName and everyone with this perm can create a shop and put userName on the first line, and can have access on the shop to add / remove content.

This is because I use special account like city account, or group account to collect taxes or to pay salary.

With this the users can use this special account to make business to.

 

Does somebody have any idea on good prices? Or perhaps can share their price list on all items?

I'm trying to set a stable base.

 

An alliance or merge of chestshop4 and Localshops

I know i'm no developper.. and I see that some code has been allready imported to Chest Shop 4... But

Some ppl asked for area where the actual shop is in the forum, maby take the better half off a dying Shop plugin "LocalShops 4" it is dying.. slow and.. (agonasing <- what ever that word is.)death..

So lets bring ppl together and make One good shop plugin.. that will be upgraded and updated when needed, cos currently there are some projects that try this.. and some projects that are almost good enougfhgfh but still come short in so many ways..

 

Plugin looks good, but there is some questions on anticheating measures. First: How to permit person placing a shop and writing in first string other player's name and selling him tones of junk on high price. Second: How to permit user from writing in first string some random word and selling junk to it at high price and buying it back at low price so his money just multiply at this operation?

Well, the problem is - I really don't think that merging 2 plugins would be good.
For ChestShop 4, you will be able (or the LocalShops dev) to add a custom shop, like in LocalShops
I am trying to make this plugin updated, but you know - if I wanted 2nd dev, it would be hard, because I live in EU (and not US) - so the timezone, 2nd - I don't even know LocalShops dev.

You can't put another player's name on the sign (or even anything besides their own name or blank space), unless you have ChestShop.admin permission.

Hey there! I having a couple of issues with your plugin when someone buys / sells fast. Im using software for monitor the TCP connections, and when someone does this, the connections number grows up very fast, to the point that all the players get kicked. For what i can see, i think these connections are interactions with the database, so maybye the problem is with register or iconomy 6 and not with your plugin. Any ideas of what may causing this?

Anyway, i would like changing register and iconomy for boseconomy to see if solves the issue, but your plugin depends hardly in register and it has been declared as inactive, do you think you can provide directly support for the plugins or use something else like vault?

I have test, with the perm ChestShop.user.test (test is the iconomy test account).
No problem to create user shop, or test shop with the admin.
But when I try with normal user, the first line is filled with the user name.

I don't use the last craftbukkit test build, this can be a problem ?

Well, register isn't even needed, it's included in ChestShop. However, this might be due to using an external database instead of local one.

But Register it's outdated! That's what im telling you.

No it isn't. Im running MySQL 5.5 in localhost. The connections that start to increment are pointing to localhost:3307, where i got the database.

Can be iConomy 6 the problem? Maybye it opens connections to the DB and never closes them.

What economy plugin do you use in you server / for testing? Are you using database to store the balance data?

You know, I am one of the Register's authors (I've done BOSEconomy support, etc.)
Hmm - I use iConomy 5.0.1 for testing and I recommend it for servers I know
I didn't change any settings, so it probably saves over H2 or SQLite.

 

Tnx.. Ok can I make Color coded Signs In CS 3 and if not.. add the feature to CS 4... <- Cos Color is more fun... And Comparing these signs to the old SignTrader Signs <- Color codet.. They where good to look at.
