I have just recently received a message from SycoPrime, the developer for the Movecraft plugin on Bukkit.
He has expressed that he would be happy for this plugin to live on, and that he does not mind if it is "taken over."
I originally started just seeing if people were interested in the plugin being revived by posting This. I also began asking for potential help at that point. Now that I have support to "take over" the plugin from it's developer, SycoPrime, I have decided to post an official request for Coders.
I myself do not have coding skill unfortunately, however I do have skills and experience in development, conceptual design, as well as management, and interacting with "consumers." I also think that no matter who heads development of this plugin, that it (as most other plugins) is too great a task for one person to handle.
So if anyone is interested in helping with this plugin, Please, PM me so that I can give you my email address and we can start "getting the ball rolling.
    Thanks, and much appreciated.

Are you like coding it over or reviving the dead one? Second options would be ALOT easier.

    Oh right, thanks for asking.
So far the Plan is to Revive the old one.

I can do this if you want. However I might only update for a few more craftbukkit recommended builds because I am currently working on a lot of other plugins. I can definantly update this though to the latest if you want.

Sorry for the delay in response, and thank you for your interest in this project. If you don't mind, please PM me and I will send you my email address or just PM me yours. Either way, email would be easier to communicate with for this sort of thing :p
    Thanks again

Well for one thing, that is why this thread is called "[Looking for Coders] Movecraft" and for another, there is a "working" file it just has limited capabilities at this time.

oh ok that makes more sense. i just remember seeing another guy make a project over there based on a concept and had no coders or skills of his own and it didnt make sense to me...being that bukkitdev is mainly a file host and bug tracking system.

anyway, just thought i would ask. no offense was intended. good luck finding a coder :) maybe ill take a look at it and see if i can help. my last project is stillborn pending confirmation of a change they made between normal bukkit and the 1.9 dev builds so im kinda stalled out and discouraged right now.

No offense taken, sorry if I seemed smug, it's getting late :p
Also, any help you would like to offer would be greatly appreciated!
And good luck with your projects.

Actually, I got that too and it is MOST useful! Get the big all-in-one, 9 books-in-1 with the blue picture on the cover because it has loads of useful things that the others don't have like game development! (only a little but good none the less). I would recommend it to any person willing to put time into learning Java.

I can help. I don't have a ton of java experiace but I do know C and C++. So java is pretty easy I guess. Shooting you a PM now.

Java is not the same as C++. It IS similar but you'll need to know all the new things and the differences

    @RobZ_SD @gyroninja
Java is fairly similar to C/C++

The main difference, is java is more object oriented (your main method must be contained in a class) and you have to type out boolean instead of bool.

I learned most of what I know from a book about java (Sams teach yourself Java in 24 hours). I find that the Sams Teach Yourself books are a little easier to follow than the for dummies books, but they are both good.

Yes, I know that but it helped me learn it faster through tutorials. Almost done with my first good plugin.

I think i would have pegged that every object is passed by reference instead of value by default, and you lose the wonderful tool of pointers
