Wow Niji, when I saw the thread title, I was hesitant to click, and sorry I did. Thank you for all the great plugins - for hMod and Bukkit, they were awesome and I used all of them. I guess life goes on, in real life and in game, but it feels as if we're losing one of the best things to happen to Minecraft. I don't know how I'm going to feel about downloading a plugin now, as I always knew if it had your name on it, it was something I could trust to "just work" right out of the box. Thank you kindly for releasing your sources, although I won't be able to use them, hopefully somebody's skilled and creative enough to pick up the torch and continue. Thanks for all of your hard work, I know it was thankless, but they say you never miss something until it's gone. Good luck in all your endeavors, and hope to see you back someday!

@deadc4t My guess is that right there is why he is leaving, you're being a complete DOUCHE because he wants to take some time to himself.
I've spent 60+ hours working on my plugins, and you know what I've gotten out of it? $5 in donations, a few users who appreciate the work it takes to code and release plugins, and a lot of users like you who are self-centered douches who think they DESERVE these plugins.

Niji doesn't owe you anything, nobody does, and he's not a "coward" for leaving.

actaully, it's your hobby to do this plugins and if you start to build important plugins wich more than 10000 people uses u cant just leave and let them alone. sorry but that's not right and if I werent 16 I would pay him maybe 500$ just to stay, but i cant.
and if he wants to take some time maybe he should give the source n stuff another developers so we have still a chance to have our Server witout getting in trouble with biatches.
I Sir, just want to say thanks to all developers and as I found it logical that he cant be on plugin all the time, this isnt actaully not that what I want but just leaving witout givnin chances isnt right.
The other thing is, maybe he'ss pissed about the developers of craftbukkit wich just update stuff n than the plug. devs. have to update their plugin but sorry thats normal and logical.
How ever I wish you a great future and remeber you live on 1 life.
    rest in peace ;)

@deadc4t Exactly, it's a HOBBY, we can stop whenever and for whatever reason we want. We don't owe you, or anybody else, a reason.
And in regards to the CB devs, they're awesome, yes they do some weird things, some stuff that irks us plugin devs, but without them there wouldn't be a Bukkit to code plugins for. They "just update stuff" because it's a beta project, it's still in development, things change when they're being developed, most of the plugin devs know that, and know that we need to keep on top of the changes. With the new RB system it's actually a lot easier to build and test our plugins, since we don't need to update them nightly.
I'm still going to go with users like you are probably the reason Niji left, and the reason a lot of developers end up just trailing off and forgetting about their plugins.

aha and what did I do?! Downloading his work or what? Stop saying Bull****, ok?
He's not leaving cause of us, wich want him to stay here for his work. Im not even saying something bad to him.
Im just saying that he "should" give his developments to another devs. I do not even force him.
Dont want to get in beef with you ok?

You did see where he posted links to the source code and handed his "coat" over to anyone who's willing, right?

So that means you're bitching about him NOT doing exactly what he IS doing

Get over yourself. If you don't like it, grab the code and take up the project yourself. Either way, stop trolling and move on.

Thanks, your coat was very nice indeed. Thanks for all the time you did spend on it, may your work pave a new movement.

Permissions are written in bukkit already, just waiting for persistence to be finished.

wow this is truly sad to read. i cant believe one of the best java coders are leaving. *sadface*. I dont know java but i guess ill take a look at his work. maybe try and keep the simply shop plugin updated :/. Maybe Some one could help.

"Cookies!" is a nice replacement for iConomy. I recommended an iConomy wrapper and it seems like the dev liked the idea, so "Cookies!" might soon be able to pose as iConomy for un-updated plugins :D

I guess we're stuck with Group Manager to replace Permissions, and it already has a Permissions wrapper.

I don't know for the other two plugins.

I'm sorry to see Nijikokun feel he has to take a break, though I understand his reasoning for this, and appreciate him publishing the source to allow others to carry on in his (I hope) temporary absence. Hopefully someone other than Anjo will pick up permissions, simply because I abhor the attitude he took towards the work of another developer, for someone claiming to respect, the actions don't reflect it. Perhaps sk89q will step up, as he helped design the hierarchy system in the first place.

Okay, so Nij got burned out and needed a vacation. It's quite understandable. Now he's left his source code for others to pick up where he left off. How about we respect that decision and welcome those that are filling the void.
Or we could be this guy:

"Permissions and iConomy replacements are rip offs!"

it'd be nice to use simpleshop working, I have yet to see a working version of that. Bettershop is all I've seen as a working shop with iconomy. Going to be even harder to get simpleshop when we dont even have iconomy rofl

Cookies! just released their first version of the iConomy wrapper :D
so any plugin previously using iConomy can now use Cookies transparently :)

    @Nijikokun /salute

Your work on basic items let bukkit grow in a way it otherwise wouldn't have been able to. The first stable server with a good mod set I was able to get running and interacting in a positive manner was because of your mods.

I'm sad to see you go and hope the winds carry you back this way when you're ready.
