I managed to get CB working for a test server I created on my computer (How I installed CB using V1.3 CB.jar). Currently the cmd tells me I am running V1.3 of the server and the CB version is git-Bukkit-0.0.0-433-g8f199f7-b423jnks (MC:1.2_01)

I've looked around but I have no idea how to tell what plugins are compatible with what I currently have. I'll assume since V1.3 came out most plugins are still being brought up to date and won't work (correctly) but I just want to know how I can tell if they will work or not such as what info I should be looking for when looking at plugins to install etc...

    Any assistance is appreciated.

I'm still unable to run it, as those links and your words explain nothing about HOW to do it.

Considering this is my help thread in which I am not asking how to run CB, but how to determine which plugins are compatible with which versions of CB I'm not sure why you have posted this. Regardless since I'm so nice I'll see if I can help. It really is not that difficult once you get it up and running. Download the .msi install package from the first link and install into any folder anywhere (Call it CB). Download the .jar from the second file (That's the new V1.3) and place into the same folder Run either the 32-bit or 64-bit (whichever you have) .bat files and the first time you do it might throw a few errors and not really do much except generate a few files. Type Stop into the console and then close it. The second time you run it, it should work. If you have your 25565 port forwarded you can type 'localhost' into your SMP to log onto your own server.

You basically just read here. The brackets will tell you which build number they have been tested on. This is usually the base build, so you can use newer builds as well.

I thought that those numbers were the last build it was supported for and anything newer would break it?

Nope, its the lowest build its been tested to work on. Many new builds will likely work as well, unless certain API changes have happened breaking the plugin.

There is no jar from the second link.

Also, I'm sorry, I should have clarified. My server has been running with Craftbukkit and can't, anymore due to 1.3.

Get the latest recommended build. It works with 1.3.

    Indeed it does.

I think the last thing I need to wrap my head around is when MC itself updates. So 1.3 came out for MC and CB was updated to Build 433/434. So any plugins that are updated should have a new "minimum" build requirement of 433 due to MC itself updating, is that how it works?

So then all I would have to do is find plugins with a minimum of build 433 even if CB itself updates beyond that?

CraftBukkit will be steadily updated as will plugins, hence suggesting the recommended build. Plugins should have a version that works with the latest recommended build, so you should be able to match up plugins with your server.
