    Hi,

I will also put this up on the feature request site but nevertheless:

I would like to see an option which allows me to specifiy which minecraft version I'm using to generate the world.

This would allow us to keep a world still growing even when the code changes for a new version.

Sounds like you need the old worldgen code in a plugin.
It's easy enough as it is to specify wgen per world.

Maybe fire up an old version of bukkit with one of those pregen plugins, and pregen a 20K distance.

PhoenixTerrainMod will allow you to choose between the 'new' (1.8) and old (1.7) generation code. You'd be best off pushing the developer(s) of that plugin to continue support into new MC versions. Some of this is also contingent on the MC code, it currently still has the 1.7 and 1.8 generation code making it easier to support switching in plugins. That said there is no guarantee that backward support will be maintained, so its worth voicing the concern directly to Notch/Jeb as well.

  4. I dont see any hint on PTM to set the generator to old 1.7 gen .. would you help me with that ?

I don't think the front page of the mod's thread has been update for 1.8, there is a link to the dev version for 1.8 support somewhere in the last couple pages of the thread.

    In the PhoenixTerrainMod.ini file find:

    oldTerrainGenerator and oldBiomeGenerator

    Set them to true.

  6. ok thx.
I will try this now :)
