What should I have to protect my server?

I am currently running a multiverse server with worldedit, commandbook, iconomy, essentials, (I modify them to my preference), worldborder, and permissionsEx + a few others. It used to be set up in a way where all users are assumed trustworthy but I've set up permissionsEx to keep really dangerous stuff out of newb/griefer hands.

What else do I need to protect my server from griefers? I'm about to make it semi-public and don't intend to be on 24/7. Are there any updated, easy, automatic backup plugins? What about ownership plugins that'll keep people out of each other's stuff?

    Thanks! :)

You could look at LogBlock, Big Brother, Hawkeye, and Guardian.

WorldGuard is a very good tool. You can mark areas, and let specific group/players modify the area. There is more as Lilac said.

    Lockette, LWC
    (These are chest/door/furnace locking plugins)

I find LB to be the most useful protection tool from griefers.

    LB = Logblock?

Okay, to condense it down and provide links to people who come to this thread, this is what I have to do my homework on:

For server wide administrator initiated protection I have the following to check out:

    Logblock: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/info-admin-logblock-v1-32-onlinetime-logging-1185-1240-1317.4543/

    Big brother: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/sec-bigbrother-1-11-0-catch-griffers-red-handed-1060.12879/

    Hawkeye: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/hawkeye/

All three being merged into Guardian: http://fill.bukkit.org/threads/wip-guardian-the-final-replacement-for-bb-logblock-and-hawkeye.33907/ eventually. I'll likely wait for Guardian to launch before I do anything.

Performance with mySQL might be a bit tough on a single threaded system, even with all of the RAM I have stuffed into it. Yikes.

Anyway, for player-controlled self protection I have:

Worldguard: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/se...dvanced-fast-area-protect-blacklist-1185.790/ as well as Region Market http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/ec...worldguard-regions-with-iconomy-5-1240.19589/

Which can do chests, OR I could use Lockette http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/se...est-and-door-lock-no-databases-556-1317.4336/ and Lockbuy: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/ec...the-rights-to-lockette-containers-1000.25494/

Or http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/se...chests-furnaces-dispensers-and-more-1317.967/ and its economy mod.

This is on top of PermissionsEx, a border mod, and multiverse.

Simple enough. :D Here's to hoping for easy updates soon! (I have a plugin that handles some of that.)
