People cant join and FAILED TO BIND PORT

Hello. I have installed the bukkit server and when i try to run the server it says failed to bind port.
But when i put my hamachi ip it's fine for me. I can join but others cant. I dont need to port forward hamachi. Can someone help me? I have been trying to fix this for the last 3 years and nothing.

 

you need to port forward. The main steps for port forwarding on a router is
1. Allowing TCP/UDP port 25565 on your computer firewall
2. Allowing TCP/UDP port 25565 on your router firewall
3. Set incoming connections to port 25565 to redirect to your local IP address

Each router has a different setting. You can try the portforwarding guides here: forward.com
or just google around the web.

Made it worse. What i meant was it wont help if i port forward or put server ip blank But it works wen i put hamachi ip but i can connect to it using my hamachi ip but others cant. That's the problem im having.

Oh you want to use hamachi. Sorry I couldn't understand so well what you were trying to do. Have you make sure you and your friends are within the same hamachi network and your friends are using your hamachi address to connect?

 

Yep thats what i do. And nothing worked.
Yesterday my MOTD showed up when i allowed 25565 through firewall
even tryed allowing hamachi-gui thru firewall but now it only works for me. but ppl get connection refused

 

If you are still getting a "failed to bind to port" error, than your firewall is not the issue. Make sure that your server-ip field in the server.properties file is blank.

 

Ok ok. Tryed that. not working. Even though i'm not running any other ports i checked using netstat -a and i only had one javaw.exe not more.

 

Someone help! On bukkit i dont get the error anymore but people get can't reach server. It works fin for me

 

No one want's to help me. I cant get rid of this. My ip is dynamic by the way that's why i use hamachi.

 

I, think you should have someone looking at it, instead of complaining, maybe through TeamViewer...?

 

It looks like your still running something on port 25565, this it most likely because your are already running a server on your computer (Without knowing it).
Try restarting your computer and then start the server again, this should fix the problem.

(Also, been trying to fix this for 3 years - Minecraft hasn't been out that long )

 

I restarted it. Still not working. My firewall is disabled BTW

You need the others to join the hamachi network under the same ip
