One of those kept connecting to mine (same error), but I figured out what it is. "Minestatus Servers are now checked from IP 96.126.97.111." It's just Minestatus connecting to your server to check if it's up. Not sure about the others though.
This is a form of an attack on your server, the program on the other end of that IP address is attempting to discover other open ports on your computer. I came up with a fix, I use a program called PeerBlock 1.1 [ http://www.peerblock.com/ ] (used to be called Peer Guardian). This tutorial will show you how to add IPs to block the attacks, just follow along. In figure G I put "MC Server" for range, then typed the attacker's IP address in "Starting IP" and "Ending IP" spots. Now as I'm watching the PeerBlock screen, I see the attempts being blocked and they aren't scrolling in my Minecraft Server window anymore. Hopefully if enough people complain to this user's ISP, they'll shut him down, but I'd imagine if he's doing this, there are probably a thousand others just like him, just a matter of time before they target your server. Looks like in my case the IP I blocked was from Minecraft-Server-List, now it shows my server offline but it's online: Seems a little excessive that it would check my server every 4-6 minutes, but whatever. If you receive a lot of these errors you might just have your server listed on a lot of Minecraft Server List websites. I would imagine this has an effect on your server connection and performance, anyone know if this is a significant impact at all? Would be good to know when advertising your server. Don't allow to scan your open ports. It is very simple way to forbid scan your ports from selected ip, just add it in windows firewall and block. If you have Win 7, open control panel > System and security > Windows firewall > Advanced settings (in left side). Left mouse click to Inbound Rules, then right click > new rule > select custom > all programs > protocols and ports don't change anything > Which remote ip adress...These ip addresses (add its all or select range)add > select block the connection > select public > decription and finish. It's work and very simple to edit.
nonsense - this has nothing to do with an attack and is legit pings that the guy ordered himself, by submitting his server to a lot of Server lists. More explained here: http://minecraft.dk/info-lost-connection-minecraft.html You are not getting hammered on different ports, but this is something Minecraft is doing internal when you get a ping on your Public port, often 25565. If you do not want to get pinged, then don't add your server to the Server directories out there.
