Cannot run newer craftbukkit snapshots

hi,
it's been awhile since i made the last update to my minecraft server (git-Bukkit-0.0.0-646-gb61ef8c-b670jnks (MC: 1.4) was the last version i used).

now i wanted to update and grabbed the 1185 build. since there's no need for my old world or anything i decided to start te server from scratch without any plugins etc.

now when i run the server my cpu load goes to 100% and the server keeps spamming my console with >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...

nothing unusual in the log, i have no idea whats going on there...

 

ok, it seems it only happens when i try to run the server in the background with an & at the end of the command (running a freebsd). i can run it by logging in via ssh and starting the server manually in the foreground but that's very unproductive since the server stops as soon as i log off...

 

If you close the ssh, the server closes too. You have to run the server as a backround process.

this only happens using craftbukkit with or without plugins, vanilla minecraft server works fine.
