    Permissions 3.0
    Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

    See you when I get back!

    Is your config resetting when you make changes?
    If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

    Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
    HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

    I'm trying to make it display user rank, but it's not working. Currently we're using this
    Code:
     default-message-format: '{color}[{nick}] &f[{world}] {prefix}{player}{suffix}{color}: '
    but when I change it to this
    Code:
      default-message-format: '{color}[{nick}] &f[{rank}] {prefix}{player}{suffix}{color}: '
    it actually says " {rank}" in chat. Any tips?

    Tested it on my private server. Everything works without errors.
    Dunno how it works with McMyAdmin though....
    When does Herochat 5.0 comes anyways? Many people are looking forward to it.

    Code:
    groups:
        Player:
            default: true
            info:
                prefix: '&4[Player]&7 '

    I have researched into both of your threads. The opinion of factions is they dont know your code to go in and allow factions to work with your plugin and are unwilling. However they gave you this code to incorporate into herochat to make it compatible with factions. Would you be willing to be a hero and incorporate their code to pull tags? Here is the code:

    Code:
    // Does player have Faction Chat enabled? If so, chat plugins should preferably not do channels,
        // local chat, or anything else which targets individual recipients, so Faction Chat can be done
        public static boolean isPlayerFactionChatting(Player player) {}

        // Get a player's faction tag (faction name), mainly for usage by chat plugins for local/channel chat
        public static String getPlayerFactionTag(Player player) {}

        // Same as above, but with relation (enemy/neutral/ally) coloring potentially added to the tag
        public static String getPlayerFactionTagRelation(Player speaker, Player listener) {}

    First off, the big text isnt' necessary.

    I've never used McMyAdmin - does it have any features which modify chat? If so, disable them. Running two plugins that do the same thing is always a bad idea, chat or otherwise.

    Second, please post your config file in a spoiler so we can see how you have things set up. We can't help you unless we know more.

    This may or may not see addition in HeroChat 5 (not up to me), but I am working on a plugin which adds a large package of extra features for HeroChat (you could think of it as a "ScrapBukkit for HeroChat":p) and I will consider it for inclusion if it is not a HeroChat feature.

    Right now, this is being delayed as I'm waiting for the 5.0 HeroChat release, which is awaiting SuperPerms work because DThielke is also on the Heroes team, which just had their first major release and immediately had to go back into the shop to convert to SuperPerms which came out right around the same time. HeroChat 5 also needs additional work to support SuperPerms, including proper prefix/suffix support. I may submit code if I have the time, but at this point I haven't even had a chance to look it over.

    HeroChat, as well as my (yet to be officially named) plugin, are not abandoned (progressing slowly due to other factors, sure - but not abandoned); sit tight, we'll all be back soon!

    When I try and type something into the box, it has two names, for example, if I say "Hello," It comes up as "[DEFAULTNICK]Kosekin: Hello
    [Owner]Koskein: Hello

    I think that this is because essentials chat is conflicting with it, does anyone know how to disable essentials chat all together? Thanks.

    Huh? I'm not the one having the problems? In fact, that's the advice I'm giving to others...You can't run two chat plugins at once, you'll get weird side effects like double posts, incorrect colors, perhaps double prefixes.
