    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

There is an option in the config that you must have turned on. It's something like 'separate chat log' or something. IT must be set to false to show up in the console

The console? That only displays black and white? XD Never going to happen.

Well post a list of your plugins, and I'll tell you which one is interfering.

Actually, i write in C# and its possible to color a console app ;D not sure about java though.

It's possible, but you actually need to code said console for color support. Which it isn't. XD
    That isn't a lot... I have like 30-odd. XD
It probably is TextWrap. Try removing it, and see if it works.

Yup! THANK YOU! I'm going to notify the textwrap creator that it is not compatible with HeroChat

Is there any plugin that works out prefixes/sufixes , channels and local (by distance) chat , like heroChat ? Since i cant add prefixes/suffixes, even using permissionsbridge, it seems i just cant add anything like that.

Any one figure out why Herochat and Faction's - Faction Only Chat option is conflicting? If so is there gunna be a fix for it ? I talked to @Brettflan over at Faction thread and he put the Faction Chat at the Second to lowest Priority... and has some events that should stop it.. I dunno what needs to be done but it would be a great help! Thanks!

How do i make a trade, help and an off topic channel.
so like /t /h /ot and then the prefixes which i dont know so give me something basic.

  11. Offline

    Redyugi

Because Factions chat has been changed, presumably, since Herochat's last update.

    Read the wiki.
You create them in your config. Then use the 'nickname' field as the command.
    So if 'trade's nickname was 't', it'd be '/t <message>'

Could someone tell me if it's possible to use this and have
    5 channels
    one that everyone defaults to
    4 "global" ones
that are all connected to each other (and main default) ?

    Thanks for any help

    Scandragon

    Ah, thanks..
I just assumed that would split each channel into its own logfile..

    That's typical!
I change it, reload the plugin and the only online player leaves!
I need a laptop so I can get on the server while out of town...

Ask when Herochat 5.0 comes. Until then, I doubt it.
I don't understand. Can you elaborate?
No, it doesn't, and your config looks fine. Maybe it's a plugin messing with it.
    hero.admin would be the one.

I need all 5 chat channels to be able to talk to each other.
    at the same time.

so if one person is in channel1
the other is in channel2. they can both speak to each other

but each need to keep the "prefix" of channel1 and channel2
so i can distinguish what guild they are in

The only way that could work is if everyone was in all the channels, and just spoke in their respective guild channels. Everyone would see it, but they'd use their own channels to talk.

    When Herochat 5.0 comes
Get rid of Essentials Chat, or any other plugin modifying chat.

I'm trying to get CraftIRC and HeroChat to work together but I'm unable to do so. When both plugins are enabled (and I think set per documentation) ingame chat never makes it to irc and the reverse is true as well. If I leave it at CraftIRC defaults then irc chat makes it in game but it isn't being reformatted at all. Can someone help me figure out why it isn't working? Configs are below.

I really would like to get this working: http://redmine.dthielke.com/issues/369\
Update: Got it working. On the CraftIRC thread there is a link to a mirror for CraftIRC 2.0 Preview 12. Get that version as it works. Newer releases have a bug that prevents it from working. The link is on page 7. Below is known working settings.

    CraftIRC:
    Code:
    settings:
      #### This node contains the global scope. Settings defined here are either global settings or defaults that apply to all
      #### bots and channels (unless overriden in the bot or channel scope).

#The prefix for the IRC-side bot commands; Can be overriden in the bot scope.
      command-prefix: '.'

      #You probably don't need this.
      debug: false

      console-commands: ['reload', 'save-all']

      ignored-prefixes:
        irc: ['!']
        game: []

#Delay in milliseconds for these game events to be ignored after the plugin is enabled (prevents initial flood burst).
      hold-after-enable:
        chat: 0
        joins: 0
        quits: 0
        kicks: 0
        bans: 0

      formatting:
        #### Formatting for the messages relayed by the plugin. You can override all formatting strings in the bot or channel
        #### scope (within a formatting: block). In irc-to-irc, the target channel controls the format strings.
        #### VARIABLES (may be blank depending on the context): %sender% %message% %moderator% %srcChannel% %trgChannel% %world%

I can't seem to find how to make this work: I have a "staff" channel for our mods, etc but I also have a lower-level account that I often log in with (for a few reasons). I don't want to promote this account but I do want this account to be allowed to chat in the staff channel. It seems I can only list groups for the channel, can I also specify single users?
