Hello, I seem to be getting an error when I try connecting to my Bukkit Server.I try logging on to my server by using the ip whatsmyip.org gives me but it just simply fails to connect. However, when I try to connect using my Ipv4 address it works fine but no one else is able to join :/ I have port forwarded Minecraft but the problem still resides. Also I had a Bukkit server before with a lower build and it worked fine, people could join my server and play. When I hosted that server, i was using no-ip but that doesnt work with the latest build i have which is #317 HELP PLEASE [IMG]

Huh, that's somewhat unreadable for me...

Do I understand the situation that you have the server on the same computer you sit in front of? Then you can connect to it locally, but nobody can from the outside? Are you sure you are port forwarding the right port and the port in server.properties is the same? Have you set IP in the server.properties or not (better not to)?

yes i know i have port forwarded right because I have had the same server but with a different build before with people playing on it. I have tried setting the ip in server.properties but it either doesn't work or it says that could not bind to port.

When is says could not bind you have the IP wrong, but f without any IP it doesn't say that you'Re cool.

Now if it worked before, please try that build again without any other action, then you can be sure it's just a build and you can try another one, like today's build or something.

Well, I tested the same build which was build 174 and the same problem occurred :/ I also tested the newest build and the problem still resides. Could my Firewall be causing the problem or is it just that it doesn't like me?
EDIT: Oh I forgot to mention this but I have tried it with an unofficial release of Hmod, and the same thing happens, so I think that it is not bukkit that is causing the problem but my computer might be. Well if you can't figure it out thanks anyways [IMG]

see if something is not running at the same port by "netstat -a"

Also it isn't my firewall, I have turned it off and tried it again, but I simply cannot connect to my server with my external Ip

Call me crazy, but I'd still put an exception in your W7 firewall, even though you turned it off. Try it again after that. Just may fix your problem.

So what is the status then? You cannot run the server since you get bind error? Or another error (that's the original post)? Or now you cannot connect? Which is it?

Ok, I can get rid of the bind error thing but it doesn't really matter. So the main problem is that only people connected to my local connection can join my server. However, if someone else not connected to my connection uses my external ip, they can't join the server -_-

I try not to bash Windows. I've been using and administrating Microsoft OS's since they have been making them. Stuff like this makes it damn hard to bite my tongue.
