Still can't get my old NPCs back. Kind of getting to be a big deal.
I've been waiting for revision 'c' but it looks like you're considering 'b' stable enough.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks, now I know why this is happening :)

It is painful since I use a customized Quest system using the NPC's. When an objective NPC goes missing, it is just confusing to the poor player. Haha.

Made it work! :D Created the NPC's, toggle'd them and stuff :) Now I had to deactivate the plugin, because it crashes my server...... Too much scrapping

OOOF! This is a great plugin, but I'll tell ya, it creates an ungodly amount of lag! I pay quite a bit of cash for about 5 of my friends to play on a server, and having Citizens running almost immediately runs up my RAM cap. Is there something I can do, or maybe another plugin causing a conflict with Citizens, eating up my servers RAM?

EDIT: I just read that 1.0.9b may have a memory leak with 1.7.x and I agree. With no players logged on, my server runs up max RAM after about 10 minutes, and crashes shortly after

I have noticed a lot more RAM usage since installing citizens, no crashing though

I cannot wait for the memory leak to be fixed. And I really don't want to roll back. But other than this leak, this plugin is AMAZING!

Yea memory leak is killing my server. I run up to max RAM and then crash frequently. Gonna have to disable it until the memory leak is fixed. Sucks cause my users just started using them and will be disappointed :/ . This is a great plugin otherwise, please fix this memory leak so my users can enjoy this plugin :)

I tested out the last DROPBOX version, and NO lag and NO odd chunks! even with my 43 npc's!

    i think it's fixed!

hmmm maybe its another plugin I'm running causing the memory leak? my idle is 1000MB higher than it usually is lol

Could you fix NPC's killing players with God mode enabled?

Also, after the update, NPC's don't say anything, they don't look when close, and they're pretty much all-round stuffed up, what happened to the days when Citizens actually worked.

As far as we know, the memory problems are those from Citizens.

Which version are you using? And do they have talkclose and lookat set to true?

It seems to be fixed now, but NPC's only talk when close, when I am only 1 block away from them, I've changed it and reloaded the server many times but it stays the same, here is my config:

Ok, i havn't found any bug yet. The only one is that if you have economy disabled (both iconomy and the one you made), that the Blacksmith wont repair your items.

I'm half tempted to make boss NPCs with this so that my players can have something to fight. Also, archers would be pretty awesome.

Hey man, when i have Citizens installed.. Everyone in the server is invisible.. :/
    Is that normal 0_o

  24. Offline

    ThijmenDF

Do you think that's normal then? :D
It's probably another plugin messing with Citizens, or the other way around.

can you edit the amount of blocks before a NPC start talking to you, mine you have to walk right up to them for them to speak

Tried to update from 1.0.8d to latest stable. Got this message every time. Anything I can do that doesn't involve starting from scratch?

That setting is in the Citizens config file.
    range:
    basic:
look: '4' <-- Change this to the number of blocks away.

@fullwall How would you setup the example quester if it only ask to do /quester help and nothing happens

  29. Offline

    ThijmenDF

Yes, If you go to the citizens folder in your plugins folder, you find two .ylm files called 'npc-profiles' and 'Citizens'. Place that onto your desktop. if that;s done, delete the Citizens folder. Start up the server again, and it will make the folder and files again. Stop the server and place the two files you placed on your desktop back in the Citizens folder.
If i'm correct, it would work again.

*edit* If I was you, i'd choose the latest dropbox version Fullwall posted above here. The difference is that the dropbox version wont genrate ranom chunks anymore, and reduces the lag greatly

The Questers are long bugged. If you want to use this, you can search for Citizens in the 'get plugins' tab and klick on the NPC-Quests thing
