if this is windows 7, disabling it might not actually do what you think.. there is a way to put an entry in there for minecraft/java/craftbukkit...

also, many antivirus programs now include firewall crap.. might want to check that as well

    depends on the symptoms...
    powerloss can:
    • lose unsaved configuration (computer, router, server)
    • corrupt worlds (doesn't sound like it)
    • destroy hardware (network cards, routers, jacks on cards/routers)
your symptom is no one can connect, and the server doesn't give any messages:
    things to check
    • server port setting (in server.properties) make sure it is the one you are trying to reach
    • pinging the server
    • connecting to the server from a machine on the same local network
    • connecting to the server from a client ON the server
    • lots of other things in that thread i linked

beyond that, we are going to need info.. questions 1-4 on the help us help you page, as well as server.log file

First off, check your router - make sure the power spike didn't reset it to defaults.

But I'm guessing the power spike hit your NIC and fried it. Start with replacing that.

Software wise a power bump shouldn't have done anything. Follow mughi's advice, its sound.

obviously, make sure it is actually broken first :)
(can you get OUT from the server? www.google.com)
(can you get into the server? ping serverip)

Never confirm any hardware failures. Always replace random things until you find where the problem lies.

Seriously though, I agree. I edited my post to suggest following your advice as it was sound (but not before you clicked reply it seems).

when I ping my server it times out...same as when I try to connect through mc...My NIC isn't fried...rofl... and atm I can't really go check out if my port forwarding got screwed up, but if it did wouldn't it give me connection refused when I tried to connect to it??

Try using localhost or 127.0.0.1 to connect if your doing it from the same machine, if that works then you know it is a firewall/port problem.
