I am wandering - can someone make some kind of autoupdater for plugins?

There is a game called Heroes of Newerth, this is not adv though, and there is a... some kind of plugin manager we use.
It is a little app that showes how many and what plugins are you using + a button for update all, update this plugin and force cehck for updates aaaaand... it actually some kind of auto check for updates.

So i am usign Login Queue 2 plugin and it says when there is a new update and in the last version it did actually dl the .jar file itself in a folder ..../plugins/autoupdater/file.jar

Can this be a setting for ever plugin? So it is easier for us, so we dont check the forums every hour or two :/ ?

I very much agree with this idea.
It would be lovely to have a plugin that would inform us admins on our current plugins' versions and the available version updates out there. With this we would at least know when to return to the forums to update the plugins we already have on our servers, saving time for a majority of us.

I've found that CraftBukkitUpToDate Is a really nice plugin that is both easy to use and works really nice for auto-updating all plugins.

@RG_PankO Here's the About Us thread:
    http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/welcome-to-the-bukkit-project.5/

    Under Ease of Use:
"Getting and using plugins: as I run a server with 40+ plugins, I completely understand how difficult it is to find plugins, download plugins and keep them up to date with each Minecraft release. With Bukkit, we'll be making things extremely easy thanks to an integrated plugin management system that allows you to update, install and uninstall plugins with the click of a button, thanks to our Plugin Repository http://fill.bukkit.org. Not only will this site allow you to find and download plugins manually, Bukkit will have a built-in command that makes installing a new plugin as easy as typing a simple command."

So, from what I'm reading here and according to what SteveMcGrath said, it's a work in progress. Nice to know its on the way :3
    Bukkit FTW!

Gamer_144: BukGet is a 3rd part plugin repository. it is not fill. myself and nijiko have been developing it. and all thats left to be done is to (a) get developers onboard and (b) release the bukkit plugin. all the backend work has already been done. feel free to take a look at http://bukget.org

Thanks man. also all the backend code is up on github and I encourage people to look and come up with improvements. I think it would be really awesome if we could get the community to really help and build it up to what they want.
