    MOVED TO DEV BUKKIT:
    News

    v2.4.2 Released - 9/24/2011
See the change log for details.
Everyone using PermissionsEx, Essentials, or anything else besides the regular permissions plugin or PermissionsBukkit should add or change this in their config under the Global section:
    LegacyPermissions: true
As of 2.4.0 the bPermissions plugin is supported directly.
As of 2.3.7 the PermissionsBukkit plugin is supported directly.
This support is not done through the new built in Permissions that bukkit provides, because there is no way to get a players group using the built in methods. However, by supporting this directly, you can now use the new permissions system while still keeping Residence, and not having to use old permissions at all anymore.

    Residence Signs (by KarnEdge)

NOTE: All Residence usage information has been moved to the wiki!

    About:
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.
    Features:
    Features (open)

    • Allows players to define protected areas for themselves.
    • Individual permissions for each protected area. Land owner can give / deny permissions globally or to other specific players.
    • Different permissions per land include: move, build, use, pvp, fire, teleport, monsters spawn, damage prevention
    • Support for group permissions on protections.
    • Multi-World support.
    • Teleport system to allow users to teleport to residences.
    • Collision detection system to prevent residences from overlapping.
    • Limits to protected size can be set up by the admin.
    • Limits to number of protected areas per player can be set.
    • Two ways to select land including using the select command, or using a item to select 2 points.
    • Messages when you enter / leave a residence. (customizable)
    • Land "leasing" system which requires users to renew the lease on their protection every X number of days or loose the protection. (off by default, see config file)
    • Recursive Sub-zoning. Create zones within zones, and then zones within those zones...
    • TONS of configuration for admins. Customize every single flag that players can or cannot use in the config file, based on their permissions group.
    • (Optional) IConomy support, can set up cost per X number of blocks protected.
    • (Optional) Permissions support.
    • In-game help / commands descriptions

    • Added "piston" flag.
    v2.3.4
    • Fixes for CB1000

    • If the save file errors, it will now be preserved rather then overwritten, it will be renamed res-ERRORED.yml, the plugin will now disable itself upon error as well unless the StopOnSaveFault option in the config is set to false.

    • Fixed global "container" flag bug.
    • Fixed some NPE's related to explosions.
    • Added /resload command to load the save file after you make changes to it (UNSAFE, as it does not save residences first, and so you may loose new residences that were just created)
    v2.2
    • Added per residence Blacklist/Ignorelists that will allow you to specify certain block types to be ignored from residence protections, or unable to be placed in residences.
    • Added Server owned land, use /resadmin server <residence> to change the owner to "Server Owned"

    • Added "/res area replace" command, allows you to resize / move a physical area. If the new area is bigger, it will only charge you for the difference in size.
    • Added 'waterflow' and 'lavaflow' flags which override the flow flag if set.
    • Fixed a bug causing money to still be charged when failing to add a area to a residence.

    v2.1
    • BOSEconomy support.
    • Essentials Economy support.
    • RealShop Economy support.

    • /res check [residence] [flag] <player> command, this command evaluates if <player> is affected by [flag] at [residence]. You can leave off <player> and it will use your name.
    • Added a LeaseAutoRenew config option, that will cause leases to automatically renew so long as the player has the money to do so. Note that, if economy is disabled this doesn't work, as there would be no point to leases. Needs Testing! :)
    • Global FlagPermission config section, that allows you to give permission to use a flag to all groups, useful for the build / move / use flag that you almost definitely want everyone to have access to. Flags under each individual group will overrule these.
    • You can now set a limits on how deep or how high protections can go into the group, using each groups MinHeight and MaxHeight settings.
    • /res select sky, and /res select bedrock commands, these auto adjust to the above mentioned MinHeight and MaxHeight settings, so it won't select into a area you can't protect.
    • Rent system implemented.
    • Many bug fixes, including proper creeper explosion prevention now. Also, fixed some bugs when renaming residences.
    • New healing flag.
    • The monsters flag has been split up into "animals" and "monsters" now.
    • New Developer API, including custom Bukkit events.

I have a suggestion..... Is there anyway to display the price that the land was created for, when its created?

  3. Offline

    e_zach

you should be able to figure that out by doing a bit of math, /res info gives you the number of blocks protected, so whatever the rate was when it was created times that amount will give you the original cost. although it would be nice if it did store the original cost or the last purchase price in /res info, wouldn't be too difficult to do i think

Hi. Grats on this plugin, this is just great! I love it.

I'm still struggling to get the ignore list to work.. At my Market residence I want Signs to be removeable and placeable. How can I do this?
Edit: /res lset ? isnt working, use /res lset instead. I feel retarded.
Edit2: Yet, it seems to work for Cobblestone but not for Sign. Maybe because of the signpost/wallsign?
Also, ignore lists only seem to ignore destroy but not place.. I'm confused.

Is there a chance there will be support for TradeCraft? (Item based economy, by default gold ingots, beats the iconomy way imo.)

Starting game without admin rights (same nickname) and I can open doors by free hands (receive message from plugin "U don't have per...") When in my hands a Dirt I can't open doors and too receive message.

Is there a limit for subzones in a zone?

I created a zone "main" and many subzones (it should be a hotel) but now (approx. 40 subzones) I can create a subzone and get a "subzone created" message, but there is no message if I leave / exit this zone.

Is there any chance you will implement a tax system? I know the plugin was made to protect individual homes, but I use it to protect a town I run.

Worked fine for one week. This is due to a randomly (or weekly) event that try to upgrade the res.yml (but it's always version 1 ?). I took a new saved file and reconfigure it with old values. Perhaps it's due to the UTF-8 in the config.yml that is not fully supported by the plugin ?

Can you please make a way to resize residences? Players would select 2 points like normal, but instead of /res create <residence>, it would be /res resize <residence>, and players would only have to pay the price difference instead of for the whole thing (and if the new res is smaller, they GET money).

Thanks for all your work on this great plugin! I sent you a little donation, btw. :)

Did you put members_forest as a group in the config file for residence? If not you may want to look at the wiki under Setup and Config... Link is Here

Why would I put the residence members_forest as a group?

in the config file I have a group named Member with all the settings for Members, is that what you meant?

sorry yeah I thought you had said members_forest was the group name. That would have been the simple answer, was just hoping it was something small I could help with.

Not sure if this has been answered or not, but I don't really want to look through 51 pages, sorry.

But, is it possible so when players create their residence, to have it take money away from their iConomy account? I recently switched from iCoLand to this, and this is kinda needed. =/

you can set a cost per block (i have it set to $0.01 per block) look at the config/wiki
EDIT: also you can have users lease out an area, or rent out. all in the wiki

Tbh, I don't understand the whole "areas" thing. They just sound like subzones. Can't there be a more intuitive way that doesn't require you to create and name a new area?
It's a suggested feature that may be added in the future.
If you relog, you can see that the text is actually still there.

When I change the economy to Essentials, It makes it so I can't use the commands. When i type in /res, It says ' Unknown console command. type in "/help" for help' and whenever I use any other command it says a internal server error has appeared

When you create Residence you take area name "main" automaticly (it see at /res info <residence> as Physical Area) in future you can expand your residence add area.
Several count of areas give you doing non-cuboid type of the Residence something like House+Front stairs).

If I correctly understand subzone can have own permissions but areas can't

Yes, here are the two areas I changed in the config:
    Code:
    Global:
        DefaultGroup: baseClass

    Groups:
        baseClass:
Does it matter that these are not the actual permissions group that I use, but groups inherited from baseClass?
Oh, and would the fact that I'm using GroupManager and not Permissions affect this? I have a feeling that this was a vital piece of missing information in my support request. :/

Oh, thank you so much. Can hardly wait for that to be done. :D

Its probbably GroupManager. Other people have had issues using Residence and GroupManager in the past, and I think its because GroupManager doesn't quite follow all the same standards that regular Permissions has laid out. It may also simply be a bug in GroupManager. I may get around to trying to work around this issue eventually, but I'm not really sure exactly whats broken. :(
See my above reply, its most likely GroupManager. :(

Its a bug in the help, explosions was divided into two different flags, TNT and Creeper. Will be fixed soon. :)

Areas are for adding more "space" to a existing area. Basically, you can have multiple cuboids that are treated as the same zone. This way, you can make more complex shapes by using multiple cuboids to protect a oddly shaped home. Subzones are intended for more City like protection, where you want to subdivide a big zone into smaller zones. Hope that helps you understand the difference :)

Theres already a way to resize the residences, by resizing the physical areas that make up the residence. For instance, if you want to resize the "main" area of your house (the one created when you make the residence) you can use
    Code:
     /res area replace <residence> <areaname>

after selecting a new cuboid with the selection tool, and it will resize the area and charge you the difference in size. :) It doesn't refund you though if you make it smaller, because it seemed to me like it shouldn't since you don't get refunded for removing a Residence either. I just noticed the wiki is missing this command, I'll fix that :D And thanks for the donation :)
